The 999 model is a Ducati that folks either love or hate. Being somewhat bi-polar I love it AND hate it. I love it that it is instantly recognizable as a 999. Truthfully, the 748/916/996/998 series can all run together, and the occasionally MV Agusta may even slip in there without notice at times. This…
Of all the “limited edition” Ducatis marketed over the years, this one has me scratching my head the most (well, next to the Needless Markup 748, that is). There is no doubt that Carl “Foggy” Fogarty, demi-God to the knee dragging masses and Ducatisti faithful in general, deserves a limited edition tribute bike. But somehow…
The road-going Ducati 750F1 that was based on their 750cc-class racing machine was the very last bike developed before Ducati’s purchase by Cagiva, making it desirable for that reason alone. Earlier 600cc Pantahs were dominant in TT2 classes, winning championships from ‘81-’84, and although the larger 750 that followed in 1984 wasn’t nearly as successful…
The Ducati 851 was the evolution of the Pantah-based “rubber band” motor series that paid out most handsomely for Ducati. Simultaneously adding liquid cooling, a 4-valve desmo head and fuel injection, the 851 significantly raised the performance game for the Italian brand and launched a new all-out attack into Superbike racing. Now here is something perhaps even more rare, a Ducati 888 previously used in British SuperBike. 1996 Ducati 888 Former BSB racer on ebay uk There have been numerous previous…
Happy New Year from all of us at RSBFS! We enjoyed a great 2014 setting many new records. Nearly 750k visitors stopped by, we’re well past 53k fans on our Facebook page, and 2.6m pages were viewed. To the best of our knowledge, 101 bikes were sold to RSBFS readers, 78 on eBay and another…
Today’s collector ready Ducati is this 900 Supersport with a mere 1,325 miles. While most seek out the better spec’d SP version, anyone stocking their barn with like new originals should take note. While cosmetics look nearly perfect, the most recent owner also has thoroughly reconditioned this bike so it should be ready to ride.…
Bimota could be thought of as an Italian alternative to Harris, Metisse, or Egli, companies that took the refined engines and transmissions from established industry giants, and then provided frames and new bodywork to create desirable exotics you could service at a local dealer… Although at this point, only Bimota is still building complete motorcycles.…
