Honda CBR900RR: What’s the Market Like For These?

I recently posted over at GermanCarsForSaleBlog a 1976 Volkswagen GTi Period Modified car that took me down memory lane. As I thought about machines I lusted after in my youth, I recalled the Honda CBR900RR. This is a ridiculous machine with a monster motor stuffed into a lightweight superbike configuration. I remember sitting on a factory display ride at Sonomafest years ago. It felt incredibly wide compared to my FZR600, but with far more serious components and weight savings features like drilled heel chain plates. But one thing was for certain: Just being in the presence of this motorcycle, you could feel the power. It simply conjured immediate images of explosive and unrelenting acceleration, and it wasn’t even turned on yet.

I hit YouTube looking for a video and found this great video of a 900RR in action at the Isle of Man in regular traffic. This is not the type of behavior I would condone on public roadways, but oh my God, this thing is amazing! The sheer power available in any gear is totally awesome, and so is the sound!

I’ll be adding this bike to my list of prospects to investigate. Please leave a comment if you have ridden this model or have an example for sale. I’d love to have your comments below!

1990 Honda MC21 NSR250R SE: Low Miles, Titled, and Great Price

The owner of this 1990 Honda MC21 NSR250R SE on eBayMotors is listing a buy-it-now of only $6500! Does aftermarket bodywork affect the price or are these just not as valuable as I’d think?

I’ve seen Tyga products listed on other ads, but I can’t same I’m totally familiar with them. So I took a look at the Tyga-performance.com website and it states the follow:

Tyga Performance specialises in providing support for non mainstream sports and racing motorcycles, as well as an increasing range of carbon fiber products for modern sportsbikes.

If you haven’t clicked the link yet, you should as the gallery and projects sections are loaded with pure 2-stroke porn! Some seriously nice looking conversions!

I like this example a lot, especially since I believe $6500 sounds pretty fair. What is your experience with this bodywork and what do you think of the price?

1994 Honda NSR 250 Rothmans For Sale in Reno

No much detail on this bike, but being an NSR and a Rothmans livery bike, this is a rare machine in the U.S., waiting for the right owner.

Honda Repsol Replica NSR150 For Sale in California

I didn’t even know they made an NSR150, but here’s a pretty clean looking bike in Orange County for $5100.

This motorcycle is currently CA Registered through 2009. There are about 35,000km on the clock (21,750mi).

It was imported originally from Thailand. The bike is in excellent condition with the only major flaw being the dent (pictured below) on the fuel tank.

It is mostly stock with very few modifications, which I listed below. This bike is a two-stroke. And, since it is a 150cc, it is freeway/highway legal. It also features a single swing arm. This is a very rare bike.

Aftermarket parts installed:
Stainless Steel Braided Front Brake Line Grips/Bar ends
Tyga Rear Sets
Tyga Carbon Fiber Exhaust Pipe

I’d try to use the dent in the tank as a bargaining tool to get the price down a bit. But it is a rare find in the states and it has title and tags.
