Quotes from the seller:

with 15 000 km (9000 miles)
This bike, when i bought it 2 years ago cost my $3900.00 and i put more than
$4000.00 to make it perfect. There is New Original Gas Tank and one side pannel.
There is a scratch on front fender back side.
Carburator, brake, tires, seat (front and back), mono seat, battery are new.
It start on first kick. Everything work perfectly.
I have all the invoice and evaluation price for this bike is more than $14000.00 is this condition

The seller seems to have a lot of $ into restoring these little bikes and it shows. Back in August I believe the RG was for sale on ebay for 4,500, but that may have been a starting price. Both have B.I.N prices of $5,300.00 so if you or your significant other has a cool 2 stroke on the wish list, these could be under the tree by Christmas.

Low Mileage 1989 Honda Interceptor 250 VTR for sale on ebay

This 1989 Honda Interceptor 250 VTR is proof that Kawasaki is not the only manufacturer to sell a 250cc 4-stroke sportbike in the US – albeit, only for three years. This particular example only has 4,783 miles and is currently offered on .

I don’t have any firsthand knowledge of these motorcycles so I turned to Wikipedia:

The Honda Interceptor VTR 250 was sold only in the United States from 1988 to 1990, with moderate changes occurring over the three model years. With a 249cc 4-stroke liquid-cooled DOHC V-twin engine and a 6-speed transmission, VTR 250 was the smallest of Honda’s Interceptor line of motorcycles.

It was originally available in two color schemes, black with blue and white, and white with blue. The 1989 model was no longer called “Interceptor” and was available in only white with two shades of blue.

The 1990 model was produced in white and blue with stripes and “VTR” decal in blue and magenta. The front wheel was 17″ and the front disc brakes were external.

1989 Honda Interceptor 250 VTR for sale on ebay

The ebay description adds a few more details:

1989 Honda 250 VTR Interceptor with low milage of only 4,783 miles.
This 1989 Honda 250 VTR has a brand new set of tires and a new battery.
The carbs have been rebuilt in the last month and all fluids have been changed.
This bike runs great & would be a good starter bike for anyone.
There are some scratches on plastics and a light dent on the gas tank.

This appears to be a very clean, low mileage example and the relatively inexpensive price makes it a perfect starter or commuter bike.

1997 Honda RS 125 Survivor… Never ridden!?

This one falls into the rare, never ridden, survivor category. Yes, I believe everyone should have a 12 year old, 0 mileage bike in the garage ūüėČ

123

Brand new and perfect condition. Never ridden. This is a clean, 0 Mile RS125. Model year is 1997. I had it race prepped last year, new tires and a complete prep, but never made it to the track. I have 13 other motorcycles and unfortunately I just never found the time to take the RS to the track.

These things used to kick my butt through the turns and I always felt a personal triumph when I passed one on the straights, which wasn’t too often. I also have a nice memory of the smell of 2-stokes in the morning when they all fired up just as the clock ticked 8:00am in the pits. I still long for the day when one of the big 4 can choke down a 2 stroker to pass emissions, only to let the buying public de-restrict them. You know, the same way they do 4 strokes…. Needless to say, if you’re in the market for a really cool, brand new track tool this might be your ticket. Price is $6,950.00 B.I.N.

1986 Suzuki GSX-R 750 For Sale in Fresno

I know these aren’t exactly rare by production numbers, but it definitely falls into the ‘most of them are gone’ category. Check out this really nice looking 86 GSX-R 750 For Sale on Craigslist for $5900:

Performance mods./New battery/Virtually new Michelin Pilots.
Comes with front and rear stands, battery tender, dust cover,

1990 Yamaha FZR400 in Medford for $2500

This is a pretty good looking example for only $2500. Oh yeah, it only has 5k miles too! I know there are a handful of Pacific Northwest followers in here, not to mention Doug is an owner, so naturally I had to post right away:

1990 yamaha fzr 400 only 5k miles, with aluminum delta box frame AND swingarm. only imported for 3 years and the 1990 is the only year with a delta box swingarm. very rare and unique bike. rated best ultra lightweight superbike of all time… even by todays standards. $2500.

The black plastics on this one remind me of my old FZR600 from college. Good memories and I’ve always heard the 400 was more than a match for the 600 with the lighter frame. I can practically feel the Citibank cash advance jumping out of my wallet right now!

1986 Suzuki GSXR750 LE for sale

This is probably the first, of what we know as sportbikes today, homologation model produced.  This one is for sale on

If my memory serves me correctly, about the only differences between the LE and the regular US version is the dry clutch, LE graphics and the solo seat tail section.  The European versions received Flat Side Carbs for this year.

THIS ONE ONLY HAS 4400 MILES AND IS IN GREAT SHAPE FOR ITS YEAR. PAINT IS ALL ORIGINAL WITH A FEW MINOR BLEMISHES BUT NO CRACKS WHAT SO EVER.

COMES WITH FACTORY MUFFLER AND YOSH SYSTEM.

The seller states that this bike has Dymag Magnesium wheels and if that is the case all of my research says they aren’t OEM.¬† If anyone has information regarding this let me know and I’ll update the post.¬†

These early GSXR’s had a whopping 106hp and used 18″ rims on both the front and rear.¬† One fun fact is the FZR 400’s used the exact same tire size (even larger than the same year FZR 1000’s, but I’ll save that tid bit for another post).¬† This one looks to be in great shape and is located in Swansea, Massachusetts.¬† I know these have a huge cult following so I am anxious to see¬†what it sells for.¬†

1989 VFR 400R NC30 for sale $4,000!

Update:  This bike is now on ebay  as of 10.30.09

This may very well be the shortest post I’ve ever had because I can’t get any info on this bike.¬† I’ve tried contacting the seller, but didn’t get a response.¬† It is still posted on the WERA BBS Bikes for Sale as of 10.24.09, so I assume it is still up for grabs.¬†

This was originally posted for sale at $6,000, but never sold.¬† From what I can tell it has been listed for about a year and the seller is now giving it away for $4,000, which I think is an absolute steal.¬† It is listed as a grey market import so it probably¬†doesn’t¬†have a title.¬† The owner says it is flawless and is a living room Queen.¬† He goes on to state that it is against his will to have it for sale, but has no choice.¬† So take that for what’s worth.¬† This bike looks to be in perfect condition.¬† I love the smaller bikes and this one has me smiling ear to ear.
