1994 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-7R M1 with only 1100 miles!

1994 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-7R M1

Location: Pekin, Illinois
Price: $3,800 B.I.N. with only 1 day left!
Mileage: 1,100

Okay, so you’ll have to use your imagination a little to get past the bodywork not being present. But, if you can this appears to be a super clean, low mileage 7R. As far as my searches can tell the M1 and M2’s might be the rarest zx7’s of them all. RSBFS has never posted a M1 or M2 and when you compare 0 to all of the K1, K2 and N1’s that we see that makes these pretty darn elusive. I don’t have the answer as to why these are never available, but if someone else does please enlighten me.

The M1 and M2’s sport the aluminum gas tanks, Flatslide carbs, close ration transmission, adjustable swing arm and fully adjustable suspension on both ends. Like most homologation superbikes, they don’t make very good real world, daily rides because 1st gear is too tall. But, once you get them rolling they are a hoot and the close ratio transmission keeps you right in the meat of the power band at all times.

I just checked and it appears Kawasaki still offers all of the OEM body work to put this one back together to spec, but at an enormous cost. I guess if you factor in $500 for shipping to your door, about $2,500 for new bodywork, windscreen, signals and exhaust canister you’d be sitting on a great bike for any collection. When you add it all up it puts you right in the mix for what these usually go for with low miles and good condition.

Interested in this project?

Cheers!

Project 1992 Kawasaki ZX-7R K2 on Ebay

Project 1992 ZX-7R K2 Homologation Superbike on Ebay

Location: Gageslake, IL
Price: $2,200 B.I.N.
Mileage: 26,000 or 32,000

Hmmmm, something interesting here for the tinkerer. This is not a garage queen by any means but might be a nice gem in the rough for the right person. It is a fairly high mileage bike with 26,000 miles (for some reason the seller has listed the mileage at 32,000 in the auction) on the odometer. It looks like it has had a small slide as evidence by some rash. I guess the big question mark is the countershaft. It is apparently stripped where you mount the sprocket. Good news is the seller is including the replacement part. Bad news is what might have caused this. Might be a simple fix, might not. The bright spot here is the seller realizes the bike needs some work and has it listed at a very modest price.

From the seller:

Super rare 1992 Kawasaki ninja zx7r 750r only a few hundred ever brought to the states. This bike came with aluminum gas tank adjustable suspension 39mm flat slide carbs and much more . The bike is in very good shape with tons of new parts on it like a brand new stainless steel full muzzy exhaust system. There is a minor crack in the fairing and some scrapes and scratches but not real bad for a bike this age. The bike runs but will need some work the carbs probably could use a cleaning and The front fork seals will need to be replaced.the worst part about the bike is the shaft were the front sprocket goes on is stripped . I have a replacement shaft for the bike it just needs to be installed. The bike is in very good over all condition and road fine before the shaft stripped out

If you have the tools and the time I’d jump over to the auction quickly. Project bikes at reasonable prices seem to go pretty quickly and the seller has a buy it now price of just $2,200. It’s not everyday you can pick up a rare bike for a modest price. .

1996 Kawasaki ZX7RR #665

1996 zx7rr on Toronto Kijiji

Here we have another Homologation Superbike for sale. This one isn’t in perfect, unmolested condition, but it is the real deal and is showing 12,100km or 7,500 miles which is pretty low considering the age.

Quotes from the seller:

OFFERING – In 1996 Kawasaki made a world superbike homologamation of 1500 worldwide & 500 of them to North America. I have #665 of 1500 worldwide. The bike is a race bike in street clothing. You will HEAR the flatside carbs, you will be in 1st gear for awhile so feather it when you take off, its made to run. I am 46 and was planning on racing it, (sold separetly from the bike )I have full race fairings & doublebubble, both brand new only installed to predrill holes.

It’s no secret that we love 90’s homologation sport bikes on this site. This RR obviously isn’t a garage queen and with a polishsed frame and swing arm it would be near impossible to restore to stock. It does offer low mileage and stock plastics, but with what appears to be some damage or tape on the fairing. This could make a great daily driver or weekend road warrior, but the owner seems to really like it with an asking price of $10,000.00 (assuming Canadian $). We’ve had a few zx7rr’s on RSBFS lately and one that was perfect with all the necessary goods to be in a museum that sold for $9,855.00. These still put a smile on my face when I see one for sale and let me remember the days of Scott Russell, Akira Yanagawa and Doug Chandler on board ripping it up on the race tracks.

1991 Kawasaki ZX7R K1 Ninja

Located in Eugene, Oregon is a fantastic 1991 Kawasaki ZX7R Ninja with 9,900 original miles. The seller states that this bike is completely stock except for the windshield. As standard this bike has 39mm Keihin, flat-side, carburetors; unrestricted engine, close ratio gearbox, aluminum tank, adjustable front and rear suspension, single seat and 5kg lighter than the standard version. This bike comes with the Kawasaki books, repair manual, battery tender, cover and also comes with a new battery, exhaust gaskets, hoses, chain and more. This bike is very close to me and I’d love to have it, but, hopefully one of our readers can help the seller out! The seller’s asking price is $4,000. See this bike on Craigslist here.

1991/2 Kawasaki ZX 7RR all original!

Found this one first thing this morning on // <![CDATA[
document.write('eBay‘);
// ]]>. As you may know, by now, these are my favorite and this one makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I’ll probably be in the mix with a bid or two, so bid to win!

rr1rr2rr3rr4rr5rr6rr7rr8

1992 Kawasaki zx7r Rare, original and unmolested. First off this bike is a CASH ONLY deal if you do not have the cash available please do not bid! 500.00 deposit through PayPal within 48hrs of auction end. O.K. now that that is out of the way I will begin. Yes,this is the real deal homologation model, aluminum gas tank, close ratio 6 speed transmission, solo seat and 40mm flat slides. Factory race bike very rare I highly doubt there is another one in better condition. From what I have been told there were less than 200 built.I have owned this bike since 1995 I bought it with 700 street miles on it, it has never been raced, crashed, dropped or mistreated in anyway never ridden in rain always garaged, it has some small scuffs on the tail section where the back pad attaches to it you can see them in the picture unfortunately this is how I bought and it was done at the dealer. It has a couple small scratches on the underneath of the right fairing, which cannot be seen unless you are lying down on your back. Other than that this bike is as mint as they come. The tank, plastics, seat, rims etc. are flawless. Truly must be seen to be appreciated. It has a fender eliminator kit on it which did not require any cutting so the original fender can be put back on also it has a full Muzzy stainless and aluminum exhaust. The fender and original exhaust both mint will be included in the sale. Brand new battery I even saved the original battery if you want it. The tank decal in the pictures is included I don’t think you can find one if you wanted to, some of these bikes came with this sticker applied and some didn’t. If you have been waiting and looking for one of these bikes this is the one you want. Clear title in hand. The rear stand is NOT included in the auction. Any questions please ask, if you need or want any more pics ask and I will send them to you. Again CASH ONLY DEAL! Shipping is up to the buyer I will help in any way possible loading etc.

The eBay description and VIN sticker say it’s a 1992, but all of my information says the K1 serial code is a 1991, which this bike has. The description also states that this has 40mm carbs, but once again, all of my information says they came with 39mm carbs.

The condition of this 7rr is amazing! I posted a 96 7rr a few days back that was in good shape, but heavily modified. This one appears to have all of the right stuff with only 7,724 miles on it. Original exhaust, original championship sticker, original fender, reflectors, it’s all there! The only thing missing is the original crate from the factory. This one has all the goods and should bring some good $$$. I would love to continue blabbering about this bike, but I have to go home and start taking inventory on what I can sell. My kids should be scared! Good Luck!

Update: This bike sold for $9,855.00!

1991/2 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-7RR

Located in Wenatchee, Washington is a very cool 1991/2 Kawasaki ZX-7RR. I have become very interested in these lately and this looks to be a very good, original, example. This bike has 10,244 miles and an asking price of $5,500. The bike has some small scratches on the fairing but otherwise looks to be OK; it comes with an additional rear tire. Thanks must go out to Doug & Phil for clarification. This post is somewhat older, so see the ad on Craigslist here.

Update: Looks like there were some typos in the ad. Our sharp eyed readers are on the case. Check comments below and Doug writes in:

The latest posting for the zx7rr is not correct. That is a 91/2 7rr. Just in case you don’t know (maybe you do know) 91, 92 didn’t have the adjustable swing arm and have K1 (91) or K2 (92) in the serial #. 1993 and 94 have adjustable swing arms and have M1 (93) and M2 (94) in the serial # plus the square ram air in the upper fairing. Skip 95 and the 96 have N1 in the serial # adjustable swing arm and steering head and 41 mm flat sides vs the preceeding years 39mm flats, also 96 have the steel tanks vs the aluminum tanks. One more note worthy difference is the fairing. 96 were all green lower and upper with a purple tail section.

Thanks for the heads up guys! dc
