What’s not to like about a 1996 RS250 Chesterfield? …..I can’t think of anything either. Except this one has a few red flags for me. It only has 6500 miles, but has had a full engine rebuild??? I know 2 strokes require a little more upkeep than 4 strokes but come on. The extra dash might be what was used along side the extra set of race body work that is being sold with this one. So to steal one of Alex’s lines “be sure to ask plenty of questions before buying this one”.
If memory serves me correctly these pump out around 70 hp and weigh in at 310#’s. That’s a pretty good combination when compared to say a FZR 400 that has 55 hp and weighs in at 400#’s.
Last week I posted a 1995 Aprilia RS250 Reggiani Replica that sold for a stout $9,000.00. I’m not sure this one will need to get that high to sell, but it will probably require about $6,000.00 to park this one in your garage.
Have a look:
In the owners words:
1996 Aprilia RS250 2-stroke, kick start. 6500 miles. This bike was imported from Spain as a GP bike and is now street legal in the USA. Very Rare. Less than 100 miles on a full engine rebuild by Moto INTL in Seattle. Comes with a full set of race plastic and an extra digital dash panel. Fresh battery, Arrow – Stinger exhaust silencers, original oil injection system is installed.
If you’re ready to get on the two stroke train you can to place your bid.
Cheers!

I have one myself. It is missing MANY of the OEM decal that came with it. I would question the history regarding any past algricultural excursions…
