I always drift off to Ducati fantasy land when I find one of these for sale… Visions of Stoner rolling on the throttle coming out of turn 4 at IMS, and lifting the front wheel. Wishful thinking I could have been on the back of the D16RR with Randy Mamola going 200 mph on the front straight or me posing for the post hot lap photo
But, then reality sets in and I realize I’m stuck with my 1989 FZR 400. Nonetheless, If your in the market for a pristine, broken in by the book 1098R this is your lucky day. Take a look at the photos I’ve imported and then and check out the rest. This is one BAD AZZ bike screaming to be bought and then promptly flogged on the track. Would I take it to the track? Damn Skippy I would because if I could properly afford one of these I would have two! 1 for show and one to trash at the track.
New/Used 2008 Ducati 1098R with 369 total miles. The 1098R model has all the goodies including carbon fiber bodywork, full race Termignoni exhaust, hand built sand cast engine, Marchesini forged aluminum wheels, slipper clutch, carbon fiber and magnesium parts everywhere, traction control, the list goes on and on. The bike is 1098R stock, except for a Motowheels clutch cover and CRG quick adjustment levers. This bike is #98 of 450 made. The auction includes the bike, set of keys, data port analyzer and a CD service manual. The serial number is: ZDM1XBHW58B015439. I purchased this bike new from Salt Lake Motorsports in 2008. After the purchase, I had Salt Lake Motorsports break it in on the dyno as advised from Ducati, 50 miles. After that I rode the bike two times to my house and back to the dealership where it currently sits on display (total of 369 miles, 50 of which are from the dyno break in). The bike has been on display for the past year. It sits on a display box, with a battery tender and is started occasionally to keep the seals wet. This bike has NOT been titled. I have the original clean title from Salt Lake Motorsports in hand. I never registered the bike as my plan was to keep it as a collector’s bike. The warranty is still active on the bike until 05/23/10. This bike is absolutely spotless. There are no scratches, tank rash, fall-overs, etc. You can see in the close-up photo of the tires, the nipples and writing are still intact.
Since the owner didn’t leave much for to say about the bike all I can say is does it get any better for a Super Bike fan, than a sexy beast in a blood red cloak?
Cheer!
