Motorcycle classified shopping is so good the second half of the season! Folks have got their last rides in, or realized that another summer has passed without riding again, and all of the sudden the market it flooded with sweet rides. I think there’s actually more on the market now than there is in the spring!
For instance, check out this beautiful 916SPS for sale with only 4500 miles!
quote from seller’s eBay listing:
An original example, never raced , never down. The 916 introduced in 1994 had an engine that was derived from the 851 which began life in 1987. The increased displacement and resulting horsepower gains over the ensuing years made the original engine cases fragile. In 1997 Ducati introduced a new engine with stronger cases. The AMA considered this a new motorcycle and required that twenty-five machines be sold for it to be homologated. This motorcycle is one of the twenty-five that were brought into the country for homologation, and is one of the ten that Ferracchi sold. The motorcycle was delivered with both a street legal exhaust system and a Termignoni system with the corresponding e-prom . The motorcycle comes with complete records including the Dynamometer run that Ferracci did prior to delivery. Included are the original wheels and tires, which have only been run on the Dynamometer. Marchesni magnesium wheels are on the motorcycle now. All original parts are included as well as an extra set of body panels.
Need something even more special? How about a Ducati 996R for sale with only 1 mile!
quote from seller’s eBay listing:
Rare 996R, the real deal, for the discriminating Ducati collector. Beautiful and historic this is one of the finest examples on the iconic superbike know to exist in the world.
A must have collection piece for the true Ducatisi or motorcycle museum curator.
This is a unique opportunity. Never ridden, never raced, no road use. A perfect example of Ducati’s legendary 996R Superbike. This bike is a critical step in the bloodline of Ducati’s racing leadership.
A real 2001 996 R, no headlights, no taillight, and faded factory shipping stickers remain on the twin headlight infills on the gorgeous carbon fiber fairing. Ducati 996R in full clear coated carbon fiber emerge from the red paint showing the world the fairings’ composition. Two frame labels denote that this machine is for racing use only.
he bike is truly beautiful. It is part of the lineage of the most iconic sport bikes ever designed. Its’ monoposto tail section with painted number plate, gold pinstriping, and grillwork are spectacular. Front and rear Ohlins suspension and an Ohlins steering dampener overtly display the quality components built into this bike. This 2001 996R has spent its life in an artistic collector’s home on a track stand. It is as close to factory original condition as is possible.
The 916SPS is a bit more of a standout to me as it has tons of trick and exclusive parts, but doesn’t do away with the headlights, indicators, etc… But as a piece of art in the house on the winning lotto day, well then that 996R would certainly fit the bill!
