2005 BMW R1100S Boxer Cup Replika
Miles: 6,981
Clean California Title
Listed Price: $6,950
In the 1990s BMW was on a mission to rejuvenate their image among motorcyclists. They certainly had a rich motorsports history to draw from but, in recent years they’d become a bit of an… old man’s brand, associated much more with the touring rather than the sport elements of the hobby. The 1998 introduction of the R1100S was a huge step in the right direction, a bike that took BMW’s traditional building blocks: the boxer twin, shaft drive, and Telelever/Paralever suspension, and used them to build a modern interpretation of what an enthusiast motorcycle could be. A genuine sportbike, but unconventional in every aspect, and still thoroughly BMW. That was followed in 2004 by the BMW R1100S Boxer Cup Replika that offered additional refinements, taller suspension for additional cornering clearance, and snazzy graphics, as well as a one-make race series in support of MotoGP that was intended to both promote the bike and to demonstrate BMW’s renewed commitment to motorsports participation.

We bought this bike in 2012 with only 3000 miles on it as part of our extensive motorcycle collection. The bike now has 6891 miles on it and is still in like new condition. I could not think of anything it needs. It was never laid down. There are no dings dents or scratches. It comes with a clear CA title. No stories. If you would like to come over and see it, please send me a note through Craigslist and i will get back to you shortly.
A big thanks to my buddy George for bringing this particular BMW R1100S Boxer Cup Replika to my attention. He’s something of Boxer Cup enthusiast and owns a 2004 model year example himself. In any event, the $6,950 asking price for this 6,891 mile example seems very reasonable, assuming everything checks out. These are seriously slept-on collectibles that can do long days of touring, be ridden hard on canyon roads or even track days, or just sit, without leaking oil, displayed in pride of place in your garage or man-cave. The perfect do-it-all collectible? Quite possibly.

Very underrated, and this one has the cool Mtechnic paint scheme. Und ja, diese Maschinen sind doch sportlich und praktisch.
