That’s it. That’s the whole listing. No history, no service records, no story about how it ended up in a Connecticut driveway with 754 miles on it. Just a bike, a number, and a firm price. Sometimes that’s all you need.
The YSR50 landed in the US in ’87 with a $999 MSRP and a top speed just shy of 50 mph. Cycle World called it a “shetland pony of a motorcycle” at the time, and that description still holds up. Full race-replica bodywork, a real five-speed gearbox, even a kickstarter, all wrapped around a 49cc two-stroke that was more about grinning than going fast. Nearly forty years later, clean original examples like this one are what collectors actually want, not the modified track-day versions running Team Calamari pipes and aftermarket triples.
754 miles on an ’87 puts this one near the top of the survivor pile. Photos back it up: paint looks unmolested, red wheels are clean, seat shows almost no wear. The carb issue is exactly what you’d expect from a bike that’s been parked more than ridden. That’s a lawnmower-level fix for anyone comfortable with a set of jets, not a reason to walk away.
