Honda VFR750R RC30 For Sale Down Under
Year: who cares! It’s an RC30
Mileage: 4,572km or 2,834 miles
Price: $25,000au B.I.N. or $25,370usd
Today I was trolling eBay down under looking for NSR parts then I grew weary of not finding what I wanted. So what do I do? Well hell, I did what any other RSBFS freak-o does and look for something else of interest. Ah..there’s a catch- I wanted to look for NC30 parts for my short buddy Sean, but like an idiot I typed in RC instead of NC and SHAZAAM! Look what I found-
Uh huh…. that’s right- a completely stock, super low mileage, in great shape RC30. I know, I know you’re saying “But, Doug it’s not in the states and it would take too long to get it”. Well I’ve got a news flash for you blokes- It would be worth the wait man! Just look at this beauty-
I know of a RSBFS viewer who imported a US spec motorcycle to Australia and all he needed was a little patience. To help ease the wait wouldn’t this be considered a Euro model with 112hp and not the puny 86hp stateside version?
As always, if you’re interested in a little Honda exotica with some 18″ rubber, Ti connecting rods, hand laid fiberglass and you have a desire to go 90mph in first gear then this could be for you.
Here’s a really boring video of some dude babying his RC30
So, you’re probably wondering why I linked up such a boring video? Well, last week I was made fun of for not riding my MC28 and I was told that “Not riding your motorcycle is like saving your girlfriend for the next guy to use (thanks Tim)”. With that said, I’ll be adding petrol to the MC as soon as it gets warm. I’m assuming this guy didn’t use his girlfriend much either.
Cheers!

Short! You’re a cheeky monkey! That is one sweet RC though.. My NC will look just like it when its completed, just mini size!
Yeah I know just like me…
Looks to be a great example, but what a poorly composed eBay listing for such a rare and valuable machine! No details given on maintenance history, previous damage or not, poor pictures. I’ve seen $500 bikes marketed better.
That said, a 100% stock RC30, even a full power version, is not a happy RC30. The exhaust is quite restrictive- look closely where it was crimped in half for chain clearance, and the first thing most owners do is gear it lower. This owner never really knew or experienced what an RC30 really should run or sound like…sad.
This is a Japanese import. That’s not such a bad thing, but it would explain the lack of history by the seller. The Japanese bike are even more restricted than the U.s. version….77 B.H.P,unfortunately.That would also explain the low price. An Australian delivered bike with that mileage would fetch around the$35,000 mark.
Oh, that sweet sweet sound…..nothing else like it.
Sounds better still from the saddle Frank. Cheers!
Just a short note for the edification of ‘dd’ who is clearly incapable of reading the perfectly legible text accompanying the RC30 video linked to the article above. The clutch on this machine was slipping at the time the recording was made, and, as such, its rider was unable to wind-on more than half throttle. I know this as a certainty, since its rider was me!
The video was made merely in order that I might ascertain the best position to place a (remote) microphone, and was in no way intended to demonstrate either my – or the bike’s – capabilities.
Having said that: With over thirty years of accident free experience on the road, and as an instructor of the highest order (UK, straight Grade 6), I can assure you I am well capable of riding an RC30 to its potential. I’ve nothing to prove to anyone – least of all to a witless scribe with a deal more bravado than literal creativity.
As to my ‘using’ my girlfriend.. Your comments are assinine, and are what might be expected of a pre-pubescent schoolboy. You ‘assume’ too much.
