A very limited edition 2007 Ducati New Blue by NCR – #50 of 50 – for $75,000!
Pretty much anything by NCR is rare, sexy, and lust-worthy and the Ducati New Blue, based on the Ducati Sportclassic Sport 1000S, has been tuned to the nines and lathered with exotic parts such as Brembo monobloc calipers, Ohlins forks and shocks, BST carbon fiber wheels, Zard(?) titanium full exhaust, and light weight magnesium crank cases. Only missing ingredient is some Kyptonite! Here’s more official info on the New Blue at Ducati.com and NCR’s website.
has been raced by Larry Pegram and has a meagre 100 miles on the clock:
DUCATI OF NORTH AMERICA COMMISSIONED THE NCR FACTORY IN ITALY TO DESIGN AND PRODUCE A LIMITED EDITION (50 OR LESS) MOTORCYCLE TO COMEMORATE 30 YEARS AGO COOK NEILSON 1977 DAYTONA AMA SUPERBIKE VICTORY, THIS WAS A EXTREMELY MAJOR VICTORY FOR A OUT DATED AIR COOLED V-TWIN AGAINST THE OVER POWERING MODERN JAPANESE MOTORCYCLES, SO THIS WAS A EXTREMLY EXCITING PROJECT BETWEEN NCR FACTORY AND DUCATI OF NORTH AMERICA.
THE FINAL RESULT SET THE MOTORCYCLE WORLD ON FIRE WITH ITS UNFORGETABLE DESIGN AND PERFORMANCE – THAT RETROED OLD BLUE FROM 1977.
THIS PARTICULAR BIKE WAS SPECIALLY BUILT FOR ME BY THE NCR FACTORY,WITH EVERY SINGLE OPTION AVAILABLE BY NCR AND THEN SOME.
NCR FACTORY THOUGHT THIS BEST WAY TO COMEMORATE THIS OCCASION WAS TO RACE IT AT DAYTONA IN 2007.
SO DURING THE BUILD OF THIS BIKE THEY ASKED ME IF THEY COULD RACE MY BIKE BEFORE DELIVERY TO ME AT DAYTONA,I AGREED THIS WOULD BE A SPECIAL MOMENT. SO THEY PROCEEDED TO BUILD THIS WITH WINNING DAYTONA IN MIND AND WITH THE HELP OF DUCATI ,THEY GOT DUCATIS FACTORY RIDER LARRY PEGRAM TO RACE THIS BIKE,WHICH LARRY WAS ELATED TO DO SO.
LARRY ENDED UP PLACING 3RD WHICH IS A MAJOR ACOMPLISHMENT 1ST TIME OUT WITH NO PREVIOUS TESTING,
ALSO NO BREAK DOWNS OR CRASHES, THE WINNER WAS GUARESHI 0N A 1400CC MOTO GUZZI THAT HAD LOTS OF DEVELOPEMENT AND RACING UNDER THEIR BELT, SO LARRY WAS DOWN 300 CC ON THE WINNING BIKE. WHAT A TESTAMENT TO THIS NCR FACTORY BIKE AND LARRY PEGRAM. LARRY LOVED RIDING THE BIKE AS HE SMILED EAR TO EAR WHEN RIDING AND WHEELING DOWN THE TRACK.
THIS IS THE MOST FAMOUS OF ALL NEW BLUES WITH LOTS OF HISTORY AND MANY STORIES MANY MORE PICS IF YOU NEED THEM,TO THE INTERESTED BUYER I WILL CALL THEM AND FILL THEM IN ON ALL THE HISTORY.
HAVE ALL DOCS, EXOTIC PEDIGREE BOOK,BUILD PHOTOS AND MUCH MORE.
BIKE CAN BE SEEN ANYTIME IN LAS VEGAS
So let’s see – created by NCR with only 50 world wide? Check. #50 of 50? Check. Raced by Ducati AMA rider Larry Pegram? Check. Absolutely top of the shelf parts? Check. Signed by Cook Neilson and Phil Schilling? Double check. $75,000 price tag? Hmm…
Having said that, if you read the text carefully and read one of the description in the photos, there is an interesting little side story to this #50 bike. Cool? Definitely. But I still can’t get that $75,000 out of my head.
On yet another side note, check out one of the photos with a dark grey car in the back ground – is that a Murciélago or a Reventón?!
Here’s what Mike Neeves of British magazine MCN has to say after riding the New Blue at the launch:
