1991 Honda CBR 1000 Hurricane For Sale!

1991 Honda CBR 1000 Hurricane For Sale on Ebay

In 1991, I was rolling around listening to my Garth CD and thinking about scratching my itch for a new scooter. As previously mentioned, I was a Ninja guy. Yes, I’ll admit it had something to do with Kelly McGillis, the fighter pilot movie and that little “no bullshit” sticker on the tank of a Ninja.

Seriously, I wouldn’t bullshit y’all. 🙂

As I browsed the local dealers, the CBR 1000 Hurricane caught my eye. It had more power, fatter tires and more passenger seat than my Ninja 750. . . you know, just in case Kelly rang me up. To tease me out of my Ninja, Honda had some great marketing for their Hurricane line-up. I queued it up for you just in case you forgot about it or never saw it back in the day.

Even the Ninja is afraid of a Hurricane

Stepping off my memory lane and getting back to business at hand- This CBR is legit! A true time capsule and a very tidy one at that. One of my motorcycle pet peeves is a scuffed up top triple clamp. If a motorcycle has a beat up top triple I won’t buy it. It’s one of those tale tale signs of how well the owner or previous owners took care of their machine. If you have to have a key chain use a leather one or one of those cool “Remove Before Flight” tags, but for the love of God, please do not let your maintenance man key ring destroy your triple clamp! (See below example of how to properly maintain your motorcycle for the most resale value)

Seeing that makes me smile and my OCD very happy.

I’ve scoured these photos, zoomed in, zoomed out and zoomed back in. This Hurricane is super clean and has been well maintained. If you couldn’t tell- I LIKE IT A LOT!

From the seller:

1991 HONDA CBR1000F HURRICANE
Showroom condition, near museum quality level of clean
1000cc DOHC in-line 4, all stock, Factory Hondaline cover included, garage kept,
very clean 2-owner classic Superbike, Complete Tool Kit, 2 Keys

In 91′ the 1000cc Hurricanes were over weight, under powered and under exposed. They were near the end and getting ready to make room for our beloved CBR 900rr’s. But, looking at this one brings back all the feel goods of 1991 and window shopping for the latest greatest and fastest new kid on the block. However, as my luck would have it, I lost my job and wasn’t able to scratch my itch for a new scooter . . . that is, until 1993 😉

Look this one over and look it over well. I doubt you’ll be able to find a cleaner 30 year old motorcycle for $5,700. These are still very capable motorcycles and perfect for sporting around the back roads or for a weekend getaway. I also think they’ve aged very well. They may not be as pointy or have all of the aluminum bits exposed, but damn this thing looks good!

Make the jump here to park this one in your garage.
