RC30’s need no introduction on RSBFS.com so I won’t bore you with the specs. This one is a rider and not a garage queen and I commend the owner for using it as it was meant to be used. I asked a couple RC owners what they thought about this bike with a no reserve auction price of $16,000 and they both thought it was a good price for the bike with all things considered. I personally think the price is in line and fair.
As you can see in the picture this RC30 does have the 17″ 3 spoke Dymag, which is period correct, an aftermarket exhaust and it sports a Ohlins rear shock. There are many other modifications to this one and if you’re still reading this you must be interested.
Here is what the seller has to say:
I am selling my 1990 Honda RC30. I never had any intention of selling this bike, but sometime life gets in the way. If you are looking for a garage queen, keep looking. I have ridden this bike as it was meant to be. Never raced and always taken care of. The engine has been modified by Mike Velasco (he built Freddie Spencers Two Brothers bike). It has HRC pistons, jet kit, cams, black box, exhaust, upper radiator, and temp guage, It has the HRC air scoop under the gas tank to bring more air to the airbox. It has a Dymag magnesium 17 inch rear wheel. It has an Ohlins rear shock with ride height adjustment and front fork springs. It has approx. 125 HP at the rear wheel. Steel braided brake lines front and rear as well as the clutch line. New clutch plates with less than 200 miles. It has an alarm installed as well.
I have most of the stock parts as well, including the radiator, rear wheel, exhaust can, reflectors, another stock air box, a couple of used mirrors, the stock turn signals and a couple of spares. I also have a couple of the Honda specific tools.
I am the second owner, but the original owner only had 50 miles on the bike when I bought it in 1993. Always garaged.
It has some rock chips in the front of the bike, the clear coat on the forks should be refinished, the windscreen has been changed with an aftermarket screen. The fairing lower needs to be refinished due to the HRC exhaust pipe. If you know about these pipes, they hang lower than the stock and will burn a hole in the fairing. I took a lot of precautions but this happened anyway. The HRC exhaust can has a dent in it as well. You can see this in the left side photo.
Like most RC30’s, that have been ridden, you can see where the header has scorched the lower fairing. I wouldn’t consider this a defect, but a natural occurring cycle in the life of a RC30. I like these types of Rare Sport Bikes For Sale because when you buy one you can actually ride it and feel the excitement and understand what all of the hoopla is about. I have a hard time understanding the RC collectors who mothball and display their RC’s in the bedroom only to become a cloths rack. I just don’t understand…..
Cheers!

I would have bought that RC 30 right now but it’s gone….damn it. I’m going to sew this hole in my pocket shut…as soon as the fire goes out
