So it appears the old saying “when it rains RC30’s, it pours RC30’s” is true. I was the 31st person to view this RC today after it had been posted and I owe thanks to my buddy Dan for the heads up. He always seems to have his RC30 radar on and turned to 11 on the sensitivity dial. This makes the 3rd one, within a very short period of time, that we’ve had posted on RSBFS. RC’s are one of our (many 🙂 ) favorites and this one hasn’t let us down. Said to be in “museum quality shape” and on display most of it’s life, but it’s hard to tell the actual condition with the limited number of pictures that the seller included.
Yes, that is his kitchen and I was laughing as well until I asked my buddy Dan where he keeps his 5,000 mile RC30 that he has so affectionatley nicknamed “Minty”. His reply? In his bedroom! So, RC30 owners are obsessed and the way I see it they have good reason to be considering what they own. I have learned something from the current RC offering and that is, if you plan on bringing your RC into the house put shring wrap on the tires to avoid any nasty scuff marks on your tile floors. Don’t believe me? Check it out…
Do you see it? Pretty cool trick brought to you by some of the most envied super bike owners on the planet.
So I can tell by the brake caliper that the bike is squeaky clean, but I have to believe that after 10k there is inevitably a rock chip, scuff or paint wear on the bottom of the fairing next to the front tire. I know I’ll get blasted for being so picky and not considering the age of the bike, but the price warrants a good disclosure and with no close up pictures being offered, one can only wonder. You know “things that make you go hmmmm”
I have a hard time believing that this one will sell considering the price. More pictures can be had, information can be shared, history can be produced, but my personal opinion is that this one isn’t 10k better than last weeks RC that didn’t sell or have 1 bid at $19,000. Anyone want to agree or disagree?

Quote from the auction:
There were 82 Honda VFR750R made and only few entered Canada. A handful of Canadian dealers had them and this particular one hit my home town of Calgary, Alberta Canada. This particular bike was owned by the owner of the dealership for the first 15+ years. After retiring and selling off his collection of bikes to take up sailing, a friend of his, an “RC30” enthusiast and collector who had two other RC 30’s had bought it. With three RC 30’s in his collection I was very fortunate that he parted with this one a couple years ago; and particularly this one as it was a local bike. Born and raised in Calgary and having my father even work at this local dealership I, along with thousands of others was able to admire this gem in our local dealership and dreamed of owing it for decades prior to the dealer selling it off. This bike is flawless and the pictures speak for themselves, and when you see it live it really gives you a since of appreciation for bike enthusiast “collectors” who cherish such special machines 21 years later after there unveiling. In two years I have put 257km on the bike and run the engine to keep it fresh and strong. Its truly is an awesome machine and I parting with it could be a big mistake given the up side this bike will have in years to come as they are so rare is this perfect form. The bike is stored in a temperature controlled environment and is available to view personally
Cheers!

That’s not a kitchen, it’s the workshop of the previous owner.
