1995 Suzuki GSX-R 1100 w/ low miles for sale

1995 Suzuki GSX-R 1100

Location: San Juan Capistrano, CA
Mileage: 13,717
Price: $3,200.00 B.I.N. or

So, there’s been some behind the scenes chatter this week about how we are stuck in the 90’s with RSBFS posts. But, with bikes and graphics like this 95 Gixxer who can resist? I said “to hell with my co-workers” I’m posting this one up and if they don’t like it they can kiss my a**!

To put myself in the mood, to do this old machine justice, I thought I’d dial up some Vulgar Display of Power by Pantera. Yes, I thought it would be fitting and help me write this one up and put a little edge to it.

Just like Pantera these mid 90’s Gixxers had loud and let’s call it controversial styling. You can call them splash graphics, California colors or just down right obnoxious, but the graphics on my beloved 90’s machines are timeless and are easy to spot. Just in case you can’t read my mind here- I loved the 80’s and 90’s, but the 90’s were better for me. I like loud, obnoxious and this low mileage Gixxer makes me want to jump in the mosh pit again and dance…. no wait a minute- oh right, that’s the Pantera blasting in my ear.

Pushing nearly 150 ponies and an easy to love riding position have made this a classic sport bike. You’d surely be the talk of any bike gathering you rode this thing to and for damn good reason.

Looking to recapture your 90’s youth or the GSX-R you missed out on? Dial up the Pantera and pick this one up for a modest $3,200 bucks. Oh, and don’t forget the Rogaine, hat or sunscreen.

Cheers!

1991 Suzuki GSX R 1100 with 7599 original miles!

1991 Suzuki GSX-R 1100 for sale

Location: Phoenix, AZ
Mileage: 7,599
Price: Update 12.12.10: Sold!

We’ve featured a few of these on RSBFS.com previously and we’ve been alerted to yet another one that deserves to grace our pages.

Unlike so many other ones this one has survived the wrath of late night drag racing! Woo Hoo! Thank you Suzuki God-

I’m getting older now and my memory is fading fast, but if I recall these were over shadowed by the razor sharp GSX-R 750’s of the day. Although, these did put out a stout 143hp they were a bit porky at almost 560#’s when full of liquids.

With the clip-ons above the triple clamp these were a welcome relief from the norm of the day. It also made it a bit more tolerable running around town and riding 2 up. For those that don’t know, this is an air/oil cooled GSX-R motor and they tend to operate on the upper end of the thermostat. I seem to recall a lot of guys removing the lowers during the super hot days while cruising in the Ohio Valley, but with a mere 7,599 miles I don’t suspect this one saw much of that. The other notable thing about these early GSX-R 1100’s is that they were 5 speeds and not 6 speeds.

From the listing:

The bike is an original Arizona bike and has been stored in this state for all of its life. No rust or corrosion. Just normal wear and tear if any! Bike is completely stock, except for new chain and sprockets. All factory reflectors’ are either on the bike or will be when it ships.

The seller has graciously posted a lot more pictures on the auction site for your review. If you feel the need to rock it old skool jump on over and .

Cheers!

1994 Suzuki GSX-R 1100(W)

1994 Suzuki GSX-R 1100

Location: Plano, TX
Mileage: 6,471
Price: $1,525.00 and no reserve in sight!

The auction is under way and bidding is brisk, but small, on this 94′ GSX-R.

Yes sir- this is the fruit of my labor after trolling the bay for a hour or so, but I’d say it panned out pretty well. Don’t you agree?

You just have to love the 90’s with all of the splash graphics and neon colors adorning the sport bikes of that era. These mid-ninety Suzuki’s always reminded me of a big bruise with their dark colors and splashes of neon purple, but like I’ve mentioned in previous posts- “these were the bikes to have back in the day”. Yes, chics did dig these and if you had one- you were “in like flynn”.

These were said to have 155hp, but all of those ponies were spent pulling around the portly 509# dry weight. So, if you were looking for a razor sharp handling, cutting edge sport bike in 1994 you probably skipped over these and went for the 750’s. But, those who didn’t opt for the smaller, more nimble 750 were rewarded with comfort and enough power to handle the big GSX-R.

This appears to have survived 17 years and looks to be in damn good shape. I don’t think with the 6,471 miles the tires would be original, but they are period correct and there doesn’t appear to be any other modifications except the windscreen. And I could be mistaken on that, but it’s hard to tell. It just looks very, very clear to me in the photos. The seller does list his phone number in the bike description area of the auction so if you have any questions- hit him up!

I suspect this one will climb in price as the auction nears its ending time. My guess is that $3,000 to $3,500 will be the winning bid, but you never know. So, if you are feeling lucky and have a soft spot for big GSX-R’s now is your chance.

Cheers!

1991 Suzuki GSX-R 1100 For Sale in Beautiful and Original Condition!

I just got an email from Jay W., the seller of this fine machine, about 15 minutes ago and I immediately wanted to post this one up myself. I’ve had an itch for a modern-classic sportbike and have been watching bikes of this vintage recently. Needless to say, not many come up in this kind of condition! Check out the pictures below, or :

quote from seller’s listing:

This is a MINT CONDITION low mile STOCK oil-cooled 1991 GSXR 1100. You’ll be hard pressed to find another in such excellent stock condition inside and out, this is a true classic and the last generation of the oil cooled Gixxers.

– Very Low 12,537 original miles.
– Service records dating back to 1991.
– Never been down at all, not even a tip over.
– Has very rare “period correct” dual Yoshimura slip-on pipes, they use the stock OEM header and stock jetting. The sound these pipes put out is absolutely phenomenal.
– The stock Suzuki OEM exhaust pipes are in mint condition and included in the sale.
– Rear single seat cowl with bump pad, passenger seat also included in the sale.
– There is one very small crack about 1″ long on the left rear corner of the tail, it has been repaired and reinforced from the inside, see picture included. That is the ONLY flawed area on this entire bike.

I just had the bike completely freshened up this past spring, the list below was all done 6 months (500 miles) ago. I have receipts for everything, parts and labor.

– Wheels powder coated, new bearings, cush drive, spacers, bolts, etc.
– New Michelin 2CT tires.
– New chain and sprockets.
– New brake pads front and rear.
– New brake lines front and rear and clutch line, all are braided lines from “Spiegler”, done in a color similar to the stock rubber lines.
– Stock OEM rear shock professionally rebuilt at “Race Tech” in California.
– New front fork seals.
– New battery.
– Full service, carb clean, and valve adjustment. All fluids changed, new plugs, filters, etc.
– New all 4 OEM stock blinkers and New OEM stock mirrors. Nothing was functionally wrong with the ones I replaced, the plastic was just showing age after 20 years, that shows you just how picky I got with this bike…

This bike needs absolutely nothing, excellent condition inside and out.

I needed to brush up on my Gixxer knowledge myself to learn that this bike sports a healthy 145hp at just under 500lbs, and represents the next to last year for the oil-cooled engined bikes. A recent April article over at Visor Down also does a classic review feature versus the FZR1000 that I found helpful.

Good luck to the seller and good luck to any potential bidders; I may have to throw in a bid or two myself!

1992 Suzuki GSXR 1100 w/ only 9,000 miles!

I know, I know not a super rare find, but an extremely clean, low mileage classic liter bike.  I appreciate a bike that has been well maintained and taken care of as much as I do the super rare ones.  Of course I can only appreciate them because I am a freak about cleaning and maintaining my own scoots.

123

Looks to be in really nice shape and well taken care of.  This gem is located in Texas and would make for a great conversation piece at your local bike night.

1992 GSXR1100 that has not been raced, Wreck, Dropped, or painted. This bike has been garaged kept its whole life and is in great shape.

The bike does not have any damage other then a few MINOR nicks from the road here and there but is a 9 out of 10 for sure. Runs and drives perfect.

The only modification I can see is the tail end is delete of the stock mud flap.  It has an aftermarket exhaust as well, but is not pictured due to being taken off for polishing.  In my area of the world, most sportbikes bottom out around 3,000 to 3,500 regardless of age or size, so for me a super clean 1992 GSXR 1100 at $2,800 is a steal!

Suzuki GSX-R Blowout Post: 5 Classic Gixxer’s on eBay Right Now!

Apparently these aren’t quite as hard to find as I thought! Here are 5 great looking classic GSX-R sportbikes for sale right now on eBay:

1986 Suzkuki GSX-R 750
– This one only has 17k miles and wears the original body work that is in shockingly good condition considering this bike is 22 years old! Has a buy-it-now for $5200.

1990 Suzuki GSXR750
– Nice upgrades on this one include: Later forks, Marchesini rims, Cosworth pistons, Yoshimira exhaust and cams, Keihin carbs, and more. This sucker is loaded and the auction is about to end at just under $3k reserve not met. What a shame, although I’d be secretly thrilled if it were my bike and it hadn’t sold!!

And three more GSX-R 1100 models: an 86, 87, and 89!

Have experience with an old GSX-R like one of these? Leave a comment and tell us about it!

1988 Suzuki GSX-R 1100: Clean and Recently Rebuilt Motor

I know that by definition the GSX-R isn’t rare considering how many were produced, but I would say they are close knowing how hard it would be to find a survivor like this one. Take a look at this 1988 GSX-R 1100 for sale in Chicago on Craigslist:

quote from seller’s Craigslist ad:

THIS IS A 1988 GSXR 1100 IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. IT HAS AN PROFESSIONALLY 1109 BIG BORE KIT INSTALLED IT HAS 2200 MILES ON IT.THIS IS AN EXTREMELY FAST BIKE. THERE IS 38mm FLAT SLIDES ,BIG BORE KIT, FALICON RODS AND HEAD WORK IN THE MOTOR. AND THERE ARE ALOT OF GREAT FEATURES SUCH AS IT HAS 8900 MILES ON THE BODY AND THIS IS A REALLY CLEAN BIKE.

Love the colors, original plastics, dual lamps and recently built motor. But that $3500 asking absolutely rocks!
