Apparently these aren’t quite as hard to find as I thought! Here are 5 great looking classic GSX-R sportbikes for sale right now on eBay:
1986 Suzkuki GSX-R 750 – This one only has 17k miles and wears the original body work that is in shockingly good condition considering this bike is 22 years old! Has a buy-it-now for $5200.
1990 Suzuki GSXR750 – Nice upgrades on this one include: Later forks, Marchesini rims, Cosworth pistons, Yoshimira exhaust and cams, Keihin carbs, and more. This sucker is loaded and the auction is about to end at just under $3k reserve not met. What a shame, although I’d be secretly thrilled if it were my bike and it hadn’t sold!!
And three more GSX-R 1100 models: an 86, 87, and 89!
Have experience with an old GSX-R like one of these? Leave a comment and tell us about it!

Hey Guys Gr8 2c some talk about the old school boys… I have a 1989 presling 750 in Black n Blue customised, any1 riding a new gixer 1000 will laugh at what im gona say now but to me it is a big achievment, I have taken my gixer on the 1/4mile strip twice sofar, the first time i finished 3rd in my class with a time of 13.094s and 176.9km/h and my second time i entered the Nationals GP vs Vaal vs MP these are 3 of our provinces here in South Africa, at this Race Meeting I placed 1st in my class with a time of 13.260s and a speed of 169.2km/h, thanks for a gr8 page, old bikes never die, they juz go faster… PS.. 4wheels were made for moving the body, 2wheels were made for moving the soul…
gsxr 1100 87 this bike is not available now on ebay if still the bike you can email me at jl13082@yahoo.com im interested on it
I love these bikes! I bought a brand new 1987 GSXR 1100 and because 2 of my other friends at the time bought one they gave us $500 off. The bike was $5000 new and for some wierd reason it wheelied like nobodies business. I mean it could be your first time riding and in 2 days you’d be The Wheelie King…strange? Sold it 2 years later for $4k, not bad.
I bought my BLUE 1987 gsxr1100 brand new. In 88 I bored it to 1109cc and put in Wisco 12;1 pistons. What a bike. I hadn’t used it for 10 years so decided to totally rebuild it. New rings, cams, rockers, 41mm FCR KEIHIN carbs, repainted (everything), all braided cables, rebuilt shock and forks and new sticky pirrellis. This is the best bike (FOR WEEKEND CRUISING) I have ever owned and sits quite comfortably next to my Ducati 1098R. You will not buy a better bike than the 86-88 Suzuki GSXR1100. I’ve owned Kwaka Z1000’s, Kwaka Mach 3 (H3), Honda VF 1000’s, numerous Yammies, Bultaco’s and numerous other bikes. Nothing comes near to a 86-88 GSXR1100 if you can find a good one don’t hesitate, BUY IT !!!
