Ducati is somewhat famous for their “paint and tape” special editions, used to drum up interest in an existing machine that’s grown a bit less exciting over time. Much as I love it, the most egregious example is probably the old Superlight, which was basically an air-cooled 900SS with a solo tail section, a couple carbon fenders and a carbon clutch cover, a high-mount exhaust, and some lightweight wheels… The Ducati 1299 Superleggera, however, is the very real deal, the ultimate v-twin sportbike. A cost-no-object mechanical confection that has had every conceivable lightweight part thrown at it to justify the “superleggera” [super light] appellation, combined with the ultimate development of Ducati’s v-twin Superquadro engine chock full of built with Pankl rods, titanium valves, and other lightweight internals producing a claimed 220hp [with the Akrapovic exhaust fitted], this bike quite literally offers race bike performance in a roadgoing package. Except that, in order to actually compete in WSBK, you’d have had to add weight to it in order to meet minimum weight requirements…

2017 Ducati 1299 SuperLeggera the nicest Ducati ever produced. This bike is the lightest production bike. The Chasis (frame) and subframe and swingarm, wheels and all body panels are carbon fiber. Every screw and bolt are made out of titanium.
The bike has the GP race titanium race exhaust that sound absolutely like a beast.
Also have Rizoma clutch and Brake reservoir with $4000 PPF (protection clear wrap)
The bike has 2800miles with not a single scratch on the bike.
Comes with all original parts and indoor dust cover with 2 keys and all manuals and the kit black box.
The bike has currently lien on it with local credit union.
I joked on a previous Ducati Superleggera post that potential buyers should “throw their Rizoma catalogs away,” but this seller has managed to adorn the bike with a few bits to gild the proverbial lily. Luckily, the frame isn’t polished, possibly because the Panigale famously doesn’t have a frame, unless you’ve invested a small fortune to have Pierobon build you one. What frame there is, an airbox/steering head that attaches to the front of the engine is, as the seller indicates, made of carbon fiber, instead of the previous generation bike’s magnesium. The $62,990 being asked for this example is far less than the eye-watering $80,000 the bike originally sold for, but is much higher than recent asking/selling prices by a pretty wide margin. These are some of the finest bikes Ducati has ever offered to the public and will undoubtedly remain valuable, but I think this seller is being very ambitious.
