This is probably the first, of what we know as sportbikes today, homologation model produced. This one is for sale on
If my memory serves me correctly, about the only differences between the LE and the regular US version is the dry clutch, LE graphics and the solo seat tail section. The European versions received Flat Side Carbs for this year.
THIS ONE ONLY HAS 4400 MILES AND IS IN GREAT SHAPE FOR ITS YEAR. PAINT IS ALL ORIGINAL WITH A FEW MINOR BLEMISHES BUT NO CRACKS WHAT SO EVER.
COMES WITH FACTORY MUFFLER AND YOSH SYSTEM.
The seller states that this bike has Dymag Magnesium wheels and if that is the case all of my research says they aren’t OEM. If anyone has information regarding this let me know and I’ll update the post.
These early GSXR’s had a whopping 106hp and used 18″ rims on both the front and rear. One fun fact is the FZR 400’s used the exact same tire size (even larger than the same year FZR 1000’s, but I’ll save that tid bit for another post). This one looks to be in great shape and is located in Swansea, Massachusetts. I know these have a huge cult following so I am anxious to see what it sells for.
