SELLER
A beautiful example of the XLCR. In great running condition. Has Title. Turn key bike. A fun bike to ride. No disappointments

Every time we post an XLCR, opinions split right down the middle, which makes sense. This is the kind of bike our community either loves for its audacity or dismisses without a second glance.
For some, it’s cool that the 1977–79 XLCR was Harley’s one real attempt to play in the café/sportbike space (aside from their later partnership with Buell). For others, it’s just a Sportster in a leather jacket.
“Poor brakes……weak clutch from stock. Still wanted one just because” eloquently stated by reader Jeff Richards
This example shows only 279 miles on the odometer. Though the seller didn’t confirm that figure, it’s hard not to be tempted by a historical piece this clean, whether you’d ride it or just stare at it.
Either way, here it is — a sharp reminder of Harley trying hard to win over the sportbike crowd.
Good luck to the buyer and seller.

I don’t have much experience with HD, but to me this was a sort of proto-VRod, and an interesting piece of history.
I have always liked this HD model. Mainly because of its styling, because it doesn’t do anything a performance motorcycle should do particularly well. Unfortunately (for me) the ask $ has always tilted my Peter Egan inspired, “Pizza and beer meter” at the time one was for sale through the years. I must be stuck in a timeless loop.
