1986 Suzuki Gamma – Rick Lance Gamma with California title and plate. This bike was originally imported from Canada (E-28) as most of Rick’s bikes were and is denoted by the flush-mounted front indicators integrated directly into the nose fairing. It was purchased from a retired doctor her in Southern California who had a passion for race bikes. He purchased it from a guy who bought it directly from Rick Lance; Rick referred the doctor to Brian. This bike is a really nice example of Rock Lance and his handiwork on what the RG500 can be. I was told by the doctor that the bike has roughly 7,000 miles on the full motor rebuild and included 2ng gear upgrade also. This is the most important part… All stock the parts pictured are ALSO included with the bike ($$$). The bike could be put back to stock condition (why on Earth, but possible), the stock included parts are in very good condition (see pics) and if a part was needed to mod (eg, rear fender cut, it was resourced with the same stock part – includes wheels, calipers, brakes, clip ons, oil tank, turn signals, flasher relay, brackets, rear fairings, etc.). All axles are stock RG500 along with the mounting holes for the calipers, rear sets, exhaust, rear brake, oil tank relocation, etc. What truly makes this bike special is it’s from Rick Lance and includes some of the 2×4” cards he used when finding, buying and selling RG500s. Sold AS IS no warranty with a clear, current title in my name. The bike will not be released until all funds have cleared my account. Wire transfer is accepted. Happy to entertain requests, showings, videos, etc. and I will assist in shipping internationally.

Rick Lance passed away in May 2019, and the RG500 world hasn’t been the same since. He was the go-to Gamma guy, full stop. If you wanted an RG built right, you called Rick. The provenance chain on this one is solid: Canadian import, purchased directly from Lance, passed to a doctor who knew exactly what he had, now here.
What sets this apart from a typical Lance build is the paperwork trail and the bonus: all the stock parts come with it. Wheels, calipers, clip-ons, fairings, the works. That’s not a footnote, that’s a serious value add. You get the hot-rod version to ride and the factory parts to keep it honest if you ever want to go back. Most Lance bikes left the stock stuff behind a long time ago.
The 2nd gear upgrade is worth noting. Anyone who’s spent time on an RG500 knows why that matters. And 7,000 miles on a full rebuild puts this squarely in “ready to ride” territory, not “hope for the best.”
The index cards Rick used when buying and selling Gammas are a nice touch. That’s community history right there. We ran a tribute when he passed, and the comments section alone is worth reading. As reader Rich boomsma put it: “Brapp brapp.”
Good luck to the buyer and seller!
