2003 Aprilia RSV1000R Mille Haga for sale

While not everyone agrees on the value that the Haga replicas represent, they keep finding new homes because there is no argument that the RSV1000R Mille is a great superbike with top quality components. This particular example sold last November and made it’s way from Connecticut to Washington. Having covered very few if any miles since, it’s back on eBay with a buy-it-now of $10.5k.

Win it or Bin it – 2003 Aprilia RSV1000 Haga Replica

2003 Aprilia RSV1000 Mille R – Haga Replica on eBay

HagaRSV_rightside

Japan’s Noriyuki Haga was undoubtedly one of World Superbike’s most exciting racers throughout the 90s and 2000s.  With a nickname like “Win it or Bin it”…  you had to expect fireworks (particularly on the first lap or the last lap!).  Unfortunately for Haga, he was also the perennial bridesmaid, having finished 2nd or 3rd in the Championship standings seven times, but never on top.  After a brief stint riding for the factory Aprilia team, they released a replica RSV1000 Mille R.  Aprilia made just 300 of these replicas and only 60 of them landed on US soil.  The Haga Edition featured the expected cosmetic touches like the race paint scheme, Haga’s signature on the tank and a blue triple clamp that included each one’s individual production number.  Performance upgrades were noteworthy and expensive including a full Akropovic exhaust (including new mapping), lightweight blue OZ wheels, Ohlin’s suspension and a few dabs of carbon fiber.  The Haga rep weighed about 15lbs less than the standard Mille R and also pumped out an additional 10hp.

This particular Mille R has seen some miles, but still appears to be in great condition.  The listing doesn’t have a lot of details, but you can check it out here:  2003 Aprilia RSV-1000 Haga Rep on eBay

Win It or Bin It – 1999 Yamaha R7 on eBay UK

Rare 1999 Yamaha R7 on eBay UK

YamahaR7_rightside

For many of us who remember the heyday of World Superbike racing, one of the indelible images will always be the maniacal “Win it or Bin it” style of Japanese madman Noriyuki Haga aboard his beautiful Yamaha R7.  Haga won almost as many races as he crashed out of.  While it was probably infuriating for the Yamaha Factory, it sure was entertaining to watch for the fans.

YamahaR7_front

With the premise of World Superbike racing being that they were based (note: I said BASED) off of the same models you could buy from the dealer’s showroom, Yamaha was forced to sell at least 500 road-going R7s to the public.  Those lucky enough and wealthy enough to get their hands on an R7 would be rewarded with about 110hp (easily tuned to 140hp or more) pushing just 350lbs wrapped up in a gorgeous package who’s silhouette is not far from the legendary Yamaha YZR500 GP bikes

YamahaR7_rightrear

The telltale gold of the Ohlins suspension, dual filler necks in the aluminum tank, and solo seat are all very clear indicators of the R7s intended purpose and racing pedigree.  You can read a bit more about the OW-02 from the seller’s listing here – 1999 Yamaha R7 on eBay UK

YAMAHA YZF R7 OW02 2001 Covered 18,755 miles from new in immaculate condition fully original bike apart from after market Termignoni exhaust system fitted. Must be seen to appreciate condition, very rare classic, investment opportunity.

1700 Miles Aprilia RSV1000 Mille R Haga in Colorado (Again?)

2003 Aprilia RSV Mille R Haga for sale

With only 300 worldwide and just 60 in the U.S., these are legitimately rare even if there wasn’t any performance change on the Haga replica. This one has covered just 1700 miles with 2 owners and from the photos it looks as clean as you would expect. Going through our archives I believe we’ve seen this one previously in 2012 when it was sold the first time based on mileage, owners, and location. Starting bid is $12k this time with no takers at the moment.

from the seller:

First adult owner purchased it in December 2003 and took really good care of it for ten years. He always parked it in a heated garage and just clocked about 1300 miles on it. I’m the second adult owner (47 y/o) of this bike and it currently has 1700 miles. It is also well cared for and garage kept. The bike only gets ridden on nice days just enough to circulate the oil. For an Italian sport bike, this V-Twin rides surprisingly very comfortable and the Akrapovic Exhaust system sounds good!

Hey guys,

Sorry we’ve been behind on these catch-all entries based on your emails. Between sheer email volume and weekends out and about, it’s been on the back burner. Here are the best of what’s still active.

Also I wanted to alert all you guys who are planning to sell your bikes at the end of the season that our Featured Listing is going to get upgraded in the fall. This means that for a limited time you can still take advantage of the low, low price of $25/mo before it goes up. The price will expire on September 15th. Email me now on how to get started. More details on the new and improved Feature Listings coming soon.

Good luck to all the buyers and sellers out there and keep the emails coming!

Marty was spending a hot evening surfing ads in Europe and came upon this 1987 Cagiva GP C587 ridden by Raymond Roche. Yours for only $104k USD.

A few of you emailed us this Aprilia RS250 Chesterfield for sale in the Bay Area for $7800. Ad states 10k miles and like new. Do some investigation though as it’s missing about half of the factory decals. Possible they were removed cleanly as they were on top of clear coat from the factory. And it does have a plate.

Philip sent us this Moto Guzzi Sport 1100 available on eBay for $7500. These have a strong cult following with people emailing them to us all the time!

Jeremy had another stack of bikes for us to consider in the Bay Area as well, and this Ducati 998 Bostrom stood out to me with less than 1k miles. He’s accepting offers and suggests that $12k isn’t an offer, so bid accordingly!

David emailed us this 2003 RSV1000R factory Haga race replica for $8495 in Minneapolis, which is down from $9250 in just 11 days since I got the email.

Shay on our Facebook page alerted us to a guy in Los Angeles with 4 Suzuki Katana’s for sale and all of them look pretty interesting in different ways.

Brian shot us a note that his 1982 Honda CX500T Turbo is available for $5500 in Los Angeles. Good luck with the sale!

J.D. sent us a note that his 86 Yamaha FZ600 has only 345 miles and is just $4k on Colorado Springs Craigslist. Good luck!

Garrett in Boston emails us the budget bike of the day with his Honda Hurricane for $1500! Looks damn good at that price, good luck with the sale!

And finally Greg just spotted this Ducati Superlight with 7200 miles in Florida on Craigslist. $10.5k seems a bit lofty but I know when I list on CL I expect low balls…

124’s Second Dance: 2003 Aprilia RSV1000R Mille Haga Replica

124’s Second Dance:  2003 Aprilia RSV1000R Mille Haga Replica

It’s gained 2 miles, dropped $1,000 in price since its’ last appearance here back in 2010.  This Haga Replica is still looking for a new home.  The darn thing is still basically brand new with 364 miles on it.  Mille’s are a dime a dozen but now that I think about it, you really don’t see the Haga or Edwards replicas come up for sale that often.

If you forgot what you got:

  • Top Distinction: only 300 units worldwide limited edition with only 60 slated for US delivery ensures top collectors value, and a phenomenal presentation to further stand out from the crowd.
  • Built on the class-leading RSV 1000 Mille R platform.
  • Fairing graphics faithfully duplicated from WSB- Spec RSV 1000 Mille SP Superbike – complete with Haga racing numbers
  • Blue anodized Ergal top triple tree with “Noriyuki Haga” inscribed signature + production identification serial number + inscription “SBK REPLICA RSV 1000 R”
  • Aprilia Engine Department developed dual-sided Akrapovic TITANIUM exhaust and stainless steel collectors+ EPROM specifically designed for this exhaust system
  • Building on the already class-leading performance of the Mille R, the Haga Replica sees a 10 hp increase at 6.500 rpm, and a flatter power curve, over 9.000 rpm with the installation of the competition-grade Akrapovic Exhaust system. Torque is greatly increased with torque curves reaching optimal values 1700 rpm earlier than the standard motor.
  • 6.6 lb weight decrease with the Akrapovic Exhaust system installed (with respect to a standard RSV R) and more equal lateral balance (also thanks to the double and not single exhaust).
  • Top quality components from RSV 1000 R carry-over, including the Carbon body panel inserts and fenders, Brembo 4 pad calipers, Ohlins suspension and steering damper
  • Full rear subframe reduces cost to add optional Bi-Posto kit
  • The 2003 RSV 1000 Mille R Haga Replica: World Superbike technology and imagery, in a single value-packed performance package.

Time has really caught up with WSB and they’ve lost some real characters that added a lot of the color to the series.  Can you ever forget Haga sliding that Yamaha around the track?  Would that even happen now with all the electronics?

Damn, I’m a sucker for replicas. I’m a marketers dream.

You and Nori’s office.  He only rode for Aprilia two years and only one of those was in WSB.  He has a pretty nice website with photos throughout the years.  The guy has had a lengthy career.  If you haven’t kept track of him, he is currently riding for Swan Yamaha in BSB.

So why is it still for sale?  I can only assume it is because it is priced at collector type pricing ($15,500) and that has really shrunk the market for the bike.  It doesn’t help that Aprilia released the RSV4  that is light years ahead in terms of technology.  If you are an Aprilia collector and have a Haga Replica on your list, now is your chance.

2002 Aprilia RSV Mille 1000R Haga Replica For Sale with Under 1300 Miles!

Our latest featured reader ride is this very low mileage and original 2002 Aprilia RSV Mille R Haga Replica. For the uninitiated the motorcycle has the same livery as the bike used by Noriyuki Haga at the Superbike World Championship. Unfortunately Haga finished 4th in the points in 2002.

From the seller:

These photos are 2 weeks old. I bought the bike new in ’03 (titled as 2003). It is completely original except for side stand which I upgraded(I have orig. stand). It is fitted with the titanium exhaust system (race) but I have the “street legal system”. Just installed first new battery. Original tires. 1,272 miles. Synthetic oil changed 3x. Runs strong and is flawless. I would like $15,000. The bike is in Colorado Springs, CO in heated garage since new.

The Haga rep came with a circuit kit, which included Akrapovic exhaust, a revised airbox, an upgraded Eprom injection unit, and 57mm throttle bodies, all of which resulted in a 10hp bump while shedding some weight as well. There were only 300 produced world wide but just 60 sent to the states. Here’s your chance to get a nearly new one. Good luck with the sale Claude!

We got the bike from a crazy OW01 collector who had two bikes for street and this one for keeping new as a collectors piece.

The bike has never been registrated, the document papers are blank!

Unfortunately we did not get the also new owners manual, the pre-owner couldn’t find it anymore.

USA- Nice example with 12,000 miles- $17,500

UK- Another clean bike with low miles- $14,000

Over priced or perfect price it might be a long time before you see one with no mileage again.
