Oh So Interesting: Never Used, Kitted Honda 2008 CBR600RR

cbr left front
I think this is the first time I’ve seen this. A production bike, kitted up and then tucked away for safe keeping. Situations change, injuries happen and we all know about money. Whatever the reason, here is your chance to jump back to 08 on a massaged CBR.

2008 Honda CBR600RR with Race Kit for sale on eBay

cbr topAnd the story on it:

This is an extremely rare opportunity to showroom condition fully built 2008 CBR600RR race bike. The list of upgrades and modifications exceeds $30,000.00 there is a full detailed list invoice/receipt from Erion Racing. No expense was spared during this build mainly HRC Honda Racing parts used in the build. After the build the bike was drained and prepped for “long term” dry storage and shipped back to it’s home in Paradise Valley, Arizona where it has been stored in a climate controlled environment.

This is a beautiful machine showroom condition everything is brand new!!

cbr mufflerI don’t think you can argue about the quality of the upgrades but what is she worth?  The BIN is $13,500. I know racing equipment ages practically overnight.  There is an interesting story out there in the world of amateur motocross though, there is a kid racing a 1985 CR250 against all the 2013 equipment and doing quite well. Hmm…..

Here is the auction.

Canadian Mystery: 2010 Honda HRC Kitted CBR1000RR And CBR600RR

Canadian Mystery:  2010 Honda HRC Kitted CBR1000RR And CBR600RR

Damn, no sooner do  I get used to coming in late and taking extra long lunches and  I get a note from the boss that RSBFS reader Tim has done my job and done it quite well.  Tim spotted these two CBR’s for sale and then did a little investigating.  He noticed the seller has also listed some Jordan Szoke leathers for sale.  A little more interneting found Szoke had some sponsorship from  DeWildt Honda in 2010 but has since signed with BMW.  If BMW is paying the bills you can’t have Honda’s in the garage.  Adding two and two together I think you can make the assumption that these are indeed  Jordan Szokes former bikes.  If they aren’t,  blame Tim!

Whats on the CBR1000:

Hotbodies Bodywork/Windscreen
K-tech fork internals
Offset triple clamps
HRC Showa rear shock
Lightech clip ons
HRC Quick turn throttle
Motoholders Birdcage
Motoholders sub frame
Carbon intakes
Lightech resists
Lightech GP style chain adjusters
Brembo Floating Rotors
EBC rear waved rotor
Sunstar sprockets
DID chain
HRC wiring harness (traction control-power adjust-mapping)
HRC ECU
HRC alternator
HRC fuel pump assembly
Undercut transmission
Dyno jet power commander 5
Dyno jet quickshifter
Dyno jet auto tune
HRC velocity stacks
NGK plugs
HRC cams
HRC valves
HRC springs
HRC Head
Ackropic titanium full exhaust

What’s on the CBR600:

HRC Everything
HRC exhaust
HRC alternator
HRC wiring harness – ECU
HRC engine mods
HRC velocity stacks
HRC gages
HRC etc etc
Showa Shocks and Forks
Brembo Master
Motoholders sufbrame and birdcage
Sharkskins Bodywork

The 600 apparently only has a couple of track days under its’ belt and both bikes are located in Canada.

Asking price on the 1000 is $22,500 and here is the ad.

Asking price on the 600 is $15,000 and here is the ad.

The CBR1000RR in question?  This might be him on a 2009 CBR.

Mint 1996 Smoking Joe CBR600

Mint 1996 Smoking Joe CBR600

Boy, how times have changed.  Remember when big tobacco sponsored lots of race teams?  I wonder if a tobacco company still sponsored a team if they’d even produce  a replica of it?  Ducati didn’t even put Marlboro stickers on the team edition of the Desmosdeci.  Political correctness aside, this CBR is a pretty darn nice time capsule.  It has turned just over 2,200 miles.  If you don’t believe the odometer check out the close up shots of the engine below.  It looks showroom fresh.

From the auction:

Practically new Smokin Joe cbr600…has been riden VERY little, spent majority of its life in a climate controlled office as display…ONLY 2,244 miles and you can tell by looking at it, original everything! unmolested and just like it came off the showroom floor! this is for the serious collector and is an awesome piece…buyer must arrange for shipping or pickup as i dont have the time to do all of that but i can deliver it locally at no charge….bike is beautiful and mint, pics speak for themselves!! i have perfect feedback and plan on keeping it that way so it will be exactly as described, no surprises…selling this for my close friend as he is in the military and doesnt have the time to sell it himself, i have the bike and clear title in my possesion, so as mentioned earlier, no surprises….If you ever wanted one of these rare bikes, this is definitely the nicest i have ever seen!!!

If you are interested you don’t have time to waste.  The auction is down to the final couple of days.  This will be another bike where you toss out the book value.  You are going to pay a premium for those low miles.  Is it worth it?  To the right person absolutely.  Very few 600cc sport bikes avoid the thrashing they were designed to take.  So drop the smokes and .

2010 Bimota HB4 Moto2 GP race bike for sale!

Genuine Bimota HB4 Moto2 GP race bike with for sale in Germany – for 169,000 euros!!

We’ve seen enough Bimotas around here, but nothing compares to this find – a genuine Bimota HB4 (the ‘H’ standing for the Honda 600c.c. race spec engine in it) Moto2 GP race bike! For those who may not have been following MotoGP, Moto2 is the new controversial (controversial because it conflicts with the World Super Sport 600c.c. class) GP race class that will replace the 2 stroke 250c.c. machines.

The Bimota HB4 was created specifically for participation in Moto2 racing, and it is the only new Bimota to carry a Honda engine in the last 27 years (its predecessor – the HB3 – was introduced in 1983).  In any case, I’ll let the pictures do the talking:

From the seller (translated from German using Google translator):

Offered here is a complete ready to race, moto racing 2. Bimota Moto 2 HB-4. Two similar vehicles will ride in the Moto 2 World Cup. Driver: – 1 76 BERNAT MARTINEZ (E), MAQUINZA-SAG TEAM – 2 Ratthapark Wilairot (TH), THAI HONDA PTT SAG, – This is offered here Bimota Moto-2 is produced on request, and has approximately 10 weeks delivery from receipt of the deposit. The vehicle is built up by HPC-Power. The frame is made of high quality aluminum and molybdenum Crom milled parts. A 145-hp, 600 cc Honda engine, Ohlins TTX shock, Paioli gas-fork, magnesium forged wheels, Brembo monobloc brakes as standard. The engine management system is realized through a high-quality Motec system. The data recording and dashboard features will also be realized by the famous Motec ADL. Functions such as, tractioncontrol, launch control and brake assist are standard on WM. Many other technical features can be identified if interested. The purchase price includes three race days in which the vehicle through two Renningineure of HPC power is adjusted to the buyer. Chassis, and engine management Trachtionskontrolle be adapted perfectly to the needs of the driver. – If you are interested please call Motorcycle Hertrampf in Nordhorn

How the seller got their paws on a genuine HB4 I’m not sure, but I do know that this is probably a once in a life time oppourtunity to owning  a first year Moto2 race bike. 169,000 euros is a lot of money, but for some rich collector, I am sure it’s worth the price. I’d be all over this if I had that kind of money!

Click here to see the ad for this amazing oppourtunity!

Racebike – 2007 Honda CBR 600RR Formula Xtreme on ebay

AMA’s Formula Xtreme is now defunct but this Honda is not. It is a 2007 Honda CBR 600RR racebike that was “prep-ridden” by Aaron Gobert and has lots of go-fast goodies. Is :

You might ask, what qualified as a Formula Xtreme machine. Well, here is the answer from Wikipedia:

In order to be successfully entered in a Formula Xtreme event, motorcycles must be homologated. They must also be of a model type that is designed and legal for street use in the United States and is available from retail dealerships in the U.S.

Although liberal by the standards of the other classes in the AMA Superbike Series, Formula Xtreme rules still limit the modifications that may be made to a motorcycle to be entered in a Formula Xtreme event. The rules specify what changes are and are not permitted, including modification or replacement of various engine internals, transmission components, and other non-powertrain components of the vehicle such as the suspension, wheels, frame, swingarm, bodywork, wheels, etc. The rules also specify mimimum weight limits, allowable fuel types, which production components must be left in place and rules for availability of non-stock components from the manufacturer. Lastly, the type of engine (displacement and configuration) is governed by a set of guidelines that attempts to bring technical diversity to the class by establishing technical limitations that allow different technologies to remain competitive. For example, air/oil-cooled twin-cylinder engines are allowed a larger displacement limit. There are also differences in allowed modifications to engine internals depending on the engine configuration, again to encourage technical diversity in the class by ensuring that motorcycles with different engine configurations remain competitive.

Formula Xtreme has since been replaced by the AMA Daytona Sportbike Championship.
