Mint 1996 Smoking Joe CBR600
Boy, how times have changed. Remember when big tobacco sponsored lots of race teams? I wonder if a tobacco company still sponsored a team if they’d even produce a replica of it? Ducati didn’t even put Marlboro stickers on the team edition of the Desmosdeci. Political correctness aside, this CBR is a pretty darn nice time capsule. It has turned just over 2,200 miles. If you don’t believe the odometer check out the close up shots of the engine below. It looks showroom fresh.
From the auction:
Practically new Smokin Joe cbr600…has been riden VERY little, spent majority of its life in a climate controlled office as display…ONLY 2,244 miles and you can tell by looking at it, original everything! unmolested and just like it came off the showroom floor! this is for the serious collector and is an awesome piece…buyer must arrange for shipping or pickup as i dont have the time to do all of that but i can deliver it locally at no charge….bike is beautiful and mint, pics speak for themselves!! i have perfect feedback and plan on keeping it that way so it will be exactly as described, no surprises…selling this for my close friend as he is in the military and doesnt have the time to sell it himself, i have the bike and clear title in my possesion, so as mentioned earlier, no surprises….If you ever wanted one of these rare bikes, this is definitely the nicest i have ever seen!!!
If you are interested you don’t have time to waste. The auction is down to the final couple of days. This will be another bike where you toss out the book value. You are going to pay a premium for those low miles. Is it worth it? To the right person absolutely. Very few 600cc sport bikes avoid the thrashing they were designed to take. So drop the smokes and .
Having a (nearly) mint 1996 CBR600 F3 with about 8,000 miles on it, it’s kind of neat to see some of the F3’s start to show up on collector sites. This one seems to be priced pretty fairly, as well.
looks like they have a 98′ SJR as the main pic and the rest are 96′. different front fender, seat, and tailsection/light.
Tim,
Good catch. Now that you pointed that out I noticed two different mufflers aswell. Hopefully just an honest mistake.
