Nicely Modified And Titled 1986 Suzuki RG500 Gamma
Well, all of a sudden we have a nice little spring flood of RG500’s coming onto the market. I like what I see with this one. This isn’t a museum piece, it is an RG that has had a series of nice upgrades to modernize it a bit. What I like is that none of the mods are over the top and some well known RG weak points have been addressed.
While it has been modded the current owner hasn’t forgotten some of you like it stock:
I have ALLthe original parts stored in bubble wrap and boxed in nice condition, including the complete original fairing, tranny, pipes, brakes, wheels, shock, mirrors, etc.
1986 Suzuki RG500 Gamma, very nice condition with many extras, NOS parts, and upgrades. Starts and rides well. Never abused. Currently licensed and titled in Oregon.
Recently installed NOVA tranny and straight cut primary gears on NOS clutch hub with new bushings, Airtech fairing painted to match original, new Metzlers, GSX wheels freshly powder coated, new EBC front rotors, GSXR front calipers, Galfer brake lines, fork brace, ride height adjuster, Ohlins RG500 spec rear shock, air filter pods, TC chambers, battery relocation kit, Drysdale shift shaft support, NOS mirrors, oversized aluminum radiator, Suzuki parts fiche, service manual, original owners manual, and more.
I also have NOS parts, including fuel tap, rear fender, Japanese spec front turn signals, fairing brackets, and more.
Additionally, I have many extra parts including wheels, carbs, filters, new Drysdale billet RV covers, sticker kits, gaskets, windshields, etc as well as 2 sets of Miline Lucky Strike racing leathers, and more.
All modifications made to this bike can easily be returned to stock. Nothing was cut off, welded, bent, or broken to make it fit. The fender currently on the bike was cut off by the previous owner – as noted, I have a NOS rear fender ready to install if needed. The Airtech fairing, although very nice, is not perfect, as it has some small cracks and nicks.
I’ve seen them bone stock and I’ve seen them modded so much you can’t even tell it is an RG. This one hits the sweet spot in my book. This is the sort of RG you wait for to pull the trigger on. It’s titled, it has relatively low miles, it is clean, it has been lightly modified and the owner has the original parts. Where will that reserve be though? My initial guess would be around $12,000 for this type of RG.
25 years old and they still look good. Too bad the top brass at Suzuki can’t be convinced to throw a fuel injected, 500cc two stroke into a modern chassis. Think they might sell a few? Hell might freeze over first so if you want a 500cc stroker

Hi do you still have the rear fender? It’s finishing an rg500 project and hoping to find one thanks
