As is often the case in our “feast or famine” pursuit of the rare and collectable, here is another Lucky Strike rendered RGV 250. This bike is clearly not stock, and comes with a pretty long list of goodies.
From the seller:
Don’t miss this opportunity to own a super trick 1991 Suzuki RGV 250 VJ22M / Lucky Strike theme GP replica in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition. This bike pulls really hard and handles like a GP race bike….Has been very reliable , dependable and has been a joy to own and ride. The sound of the SUGAYA’S alone is intoxicating ( if your a 2 stroke enthusiast) and if your not well, there is medication for that..
Over $4000.00 in new / premium performance parts..
So if your looking for a rare , road worthy, legal, high quality, lightweight , unique and reliable screamer, that is far superior than most modern street bikes .. or a killer track weapon to torment those big cc lead buckets in the corners …
Livery-branded bikes rank right up there as the most popular to copy; because these are often originally produced in low numbers, there is a collectability factor that influences prices. But strip away the colors and just focus on the hardware for a moment, and tell me this replica doesn’t have all the right pieces.
From the seller:
Derestricted ( SAPC) and fully kitted for pump gas.
Tyga Performance GP Tail section (will include stock tail section in sale)
SP Heads / Barrels
Carbon Fiber Hugger
Smoked wind screen
6 piston front calipers with new pads ( front and rear) and NISSIN front radial brake master cylinder for eye popping braking

Fresh gear oil
Oil injected / injection intact and operates perfectly
New ( aftermarket fairings) Original fairings new = $2200.00 / couldn’t justify…
Trick master cylinder covers
Low miles 7673 (12,350) kilometers
Clear Connecticut title / Registration
Bid with confidence — 100 % positive feedback..******** Will include a spare , low mile , great running stock motor and carbs, if buy it now price is met $10,500.00) ********
The current bid on this one is only $5,200 with reserve still in place. The BIN number is ten point five large ones, but as you have already noted, this would include another stock motor (perfect for a rebuild project or a winter “hot saw” project for you lumberjack types). There appears to be even more in this bike, as in the pictures I spotted Woodcraft clip-ons – I wonder what other treasures this trove holds. For more info and pictures, click on the link and jump over to the auction. Lucky Strike livery – does it get your motor running? Let us know in the comments!
MI
Buyer Beware!!! I am the previous owner (you can see my old posting in here). The bike had over 30k km on it when I sold it to him in June. It’s a japanese spec VJ22L not UK spec M and had over 30k KM on the clock when I shipped it out. He rolled back the speedo or installed another one. The bike is not low miles.
Buyer beware is right, this seller is a dirtbag! I know the RG500 gamma he just sold was trash, cracked cases, all sorts of problems, DONT TRUST THIS GUY ROY!!
Ebay feedback is 100% flawless on the seller..
Who the hell buy’s an RG 500 without viewing – inspecting and riding… Uhhhmm no one unless of course you are clueless ..
Did I mention that ebay feedback on this seller is 100% positive ??
Case closed …………
This RGV for sale is awesome …………………..
Check out Rick’s listing back in 2010 on this bike.
He wanted $12,000when it looked terrible .. Clearly clueless..
Looks better now wouldn’t you agree….
https://evu.hhv.mybluehost.me/raresportsbikesforsale/1991-suzuki-rgv250-titled-registered-in-florida/
I can tell you everything about this RGV, I’m the one who imported it, titled it, rode it, sold it. Originally paid $4000 to get it here from Japan shipped with just over 24k KM on the clock. Came with Sugaya pipes, 34mm carbs.
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=67954775953&l=20acf13699
I was asking 12k in 2010 just cause. Why not? I sold it for 6k to Roy with 32k on the clock, the guy selling it now in a state of disrepair. I lost interest in riding that bike because here in Florida it kept overheating in traffic cause no rad fan. Useless here. I took good care of it otherwise, always used motul oils. I did drop it on a track day hence the clip ons and tyga body. I bent the original rear subframe, cracked a clip on, rashed the body up.
As the bike stands currently all Roy did was replaced the seized up brakes from sitting with Hayabusa front and a new rear caliper. He also painted it but didn’t install the Tyga front fender that has an HID headlight. That front still has road rash along the left side. Sounds like he got it running good, the carbs were all gummed up from sitting. It currently needs because I see he didn’t replace: Fork seals, chain/sprokets are toast
rear shock toast (I used a modified GSXR but put factory back on when sold it). Pretty much every bolt on it is rusted from florida humidity/salt air.
I’m down for someone paying whatever they want for it, but the seller isn’t honest and for that kind of money people deserve honesty. True mileage is well over 30k KM and I have documented proof on that.
The Grey Market community is small, very small.
RS is Roy, I didnt buy your rg500, but the word spreads quick in the gamma community, this bike sounds like another scam!
Very small community. I actually only imported the bike to begin with on a bet. I always had a liking towards 2-strokes and everyone I spoke with about it told me it was impossible. In Florida the only law saying I couldn’t get one or own one was it couldn’t initially come into the country/pass customs as a bike. So I had it shipped in boxes as parts. Whammo. I put back together as a bike because that’s State law now and Florida doesn’t care if you title a wheelbarrow with a nuclear reactor. Went to the DMV, applied for title using the 11 digit Japanese vin, got a title, plate, and away I went. Quite simple actually. Anyone can do it. Unless you live in Georgia. It’s not even legal to ride it across state lines. They hate gray market.
Jimbo, the bike isn’t a scam. Engine wise it’s freaking perfect and strong as hell. One of the fastest RGV250’s in the USA, keeps up with GSXR 600’s. It needs TLC otherwise. Could really use a frame off and a whole new bolt kit. Frame refinished/powdercoated, forks replaced. Is it worth 10k? no. Is it work 6-8k? Every bit. There’s just no reason to lie about the miles. It’s a riders bike, it was raced, thrown around, laid down, and used like a 2-stroke should be. Beat up and put to bed wet. I was ready to back it up and say how great the bike is, cause mechanically it is, until I read the BS about the mileage. That’s just straight up fraud and I don’t like it.
Rick – Thank you for now mentioning the issues the bike had as well as the miles .. although the title you provided stated 12,020 ..Would have been nice to know before I bought it from you. Maybe it was your OCD that kept you from mentioning… No trouble though- I sorted everything out… Hmm – who’s the dirtbag ??
Here it is again … Looks like Richard was desperate to sell thiis half complete bike for $12,000,
I am not sure why Rick didn’t mention the mileage in his ad here either?? Hmm ..

1991 Suzuki RGV 250
1991 Suzuki RGV 250 VJ22a. Japanese spec model (L). Titled and registered in Florida using the Japanese VIN, correct year, model, etc. This is not a VIN Swapped bike or assembled from parts title. Paperwork is 100% correct. Insured through Progressive.
Fully kitted for pump gas. Some modifications include:
Straight plug SP heads
Aprilia 23D70 SAPC
Sugaya race kit pipes ($$$$)
Wet Clutch/CR gearbox
34mm carbs
Earls GP SS brake lines
Woodcraft Racing clip ons
Tyga Performance GP body (6000k HID)
UK kit CNC steps
still oil injected for those long weekend bike rides
Bike runs beautiful, I drive it almost every day. It’s not showroom condition, it is a 1991 GP motorcycle that is driven like it’s supposed to be. VERY VERY VERY rare. I left the tyga bodywork unpainted, can’t make up my mind. I kept every part I removed in a box in case you want to put it back to factory.
Pictures:
Silver was when I got the bike from Japan
White was because I hate silver motorcycles and I’m too OCD to decide on a paint livery.
No trades. Cash only. No test rides. No part-outs.
$12,000
Pictures:
Currently OEM front end still on bike, tyga tail fitted. No time to fine tune it’s install
Show me where the title says 12k. I have copies of all the paperwork.Ill see about scanning them in today at work.
Hello Everyone,
Following the email traffic on this RGV I fully echo the advice of “BUYER BEWARE WITH THIS SELLER”!!!!!
I purchased an RG500 this past year that was totally misrepresented by Roy and will provide everyone with examples.
First opening line of the add stated this RG to be of collector quality which was far from the truth in many, many ways.
From the ebay photos and phone calls the machine seemed to live up to my expectations and being involved for over 30 years with motorcyles I developed a trust in Roy which was a mistake.
Claims in print of the ad which I still have state- “Never dropped, never rebuilt, looks perfect and all body parts are original and in excellent condition.
This RG was crashed numerous times that when I removed the fairing, support brackets and headlight support all broken and safety wired back together. Right side lower chamber with road rash as well as footpeg mount and inner rear fender broken and safety wired back together.
The motor had a fresh set of gaskets, clearly visible so the claim of never being rebuilt was false.
Numerous body parts were cracked and repaired (cheaply) at some point.
Still I PURCHASED the bike, as Roy required payment at the end of the auction in full, so the this is on me, Roy is a business man, HOWEVER BE CAREFUL!!!!!!
THis RG is now in the hands of Rick Lance @ Lance Gamma going through a full rebuild, so all of this purchase disappointment is just a bad memory.
Hope this feedback helps
Hey Robert, Good choice having Rick Lance work on it, he will make your gamma extra nice, he is a good guy! Sorry Roy screwed you like he wants to do to the buyer of his RGV!
https://evu.hhv.mybluehost.me/raresportsbikesforsale/collector-quality-rg-titled-1986-suzuki-rg500-gamma/
Even a dog won’t shit in his own kennel?? Looks to be the same RG that he wanted to sell off to me taking my VJ23 in trade….glad I didn’t do it.
Thankyou for this discussion. As I live in Connecticut and having developed the two-stroke disease at a later stage of life I was going to bid and take a ride down to see the bike before the end of the auction. I might have been able to see enough to warn me off, but then again…
Robert Payatak
You came in person with your brother inlaw who claimed to be an 80’s GP racer and rode / viewed the bike .
Did you not ?? Spent an hr at my house .. yes at my house / where I live.
Lets be honest on this site before smearing peoples names..
Buyer remorse or disappointed that you couldn’t hang with the squids on their 2011 GSX 600’s.
Thats not what its all about …
You seemed liked a decent guy – sorry you were disappointed..
Show me my title showing 12k cause ill be uploading it showing 26. Dont lie. The bike is good and it runs amazing but why lie.
Robert
I am also curious as to why you did not provide negative feedback on EBAY??
100% positive … for 15 years …
This is the very reason I do not post anything especially negative feedback, however Roy since the door is open I will clarify for all to see.
Yes, I did come with a very close friend and well known racer from the time period. From his first siting of the RG he pointed out how the entire upper fairing was bent to the right and contacting the handelbars when we went full lock. And at this point I ask and what could be done??
You had received my payment for the RG in full so against the advice of him I decided not to argue with you over the misrepresentation of the RG, again what good would it have done?? Would you refunded me the monies??, would you have reduced the price I paid??, I didn’t think so. But maybe I’m wrong and you would have if I had made a case for these items, if so, I stand corrected here and learned a valuable lesson.
Again, Buyer Beware!!, so I loaded up, and when I got it home, and discovered all of the things hiding underneath that did not, at all meet your claims, and to say disappointment is a kind understatement, and you are correct I’m a decent and respectful person, and I chalked it up to business, not by my standard, but business nontheless.
Again, I see the formor ebay ad and I’m angry as to how pictures can enhance the lie as follows:
The photos show nothing of the big chunk out of the front rim.
The photo shows nothing of the leaking front right fork tube and during my subsequent attempt to repair the fork tube it was fould bent back from crash damage.
Nothing metioned of the real bodywork condition with cracks and repairs everywhere, and the front master cylinder crash damage on the upper corner and the glass completely crazed over. I ask what collector quality did you claim??
All of the understructure damage reglued, wire tied and cobbled back together was not mentioned or visable in your ad.
Again, the claims of an unmolested original were false and you had my money, so life goes on.
The motor was taken apart, porting work was attempted (incorrectly) and the carburetors were assembled incorrectly.
All of this by reading your ad and then really going over the bike were two completely different realities.
My disappointment also Roy, I thought from our initial meeting you would be source for future purchases, sadly I was schooled otherwise.
As I say, life goes on, Buyer Beware and life is too short and something good will come from bad and the Gamma is being completely transformed by Rick Lance @ Lance Gamma and will a complete Rick Lance Gamma when I get it back, only thing I ask as a close community here, please be more honest in the future.
Best regards all,
RP
Also, Roy please out of respect, buyer remorse or being able to hang with “squids” as you say isn’t the issue, I’m was and still am fully aware of what the RG is and isn’t or more honestly never was.
Honesty and reputation is key, with over 8 motorcycles currently owned, and 30 years of owning and riding selling and buying, misunderstanding the original products intent that I’m stepping into and wanting to be part of poser groups is not my thing.
Anyone and I mean anyone I have sold motorcyles and or vintage cars over the years received honesty about the sale, I feel didn’t happen with our transaction, forget ebay, wouldn’t waste all this time trying to explain the negative.
Like I said honest in the future, and thanks to Rick Lance moves all of my situation forward.
Best regards,
RP
Robert, is this posting that Roy put up the bike you purchased from him that you are having Lance rebuild??
https://evu.hhv.mybluehost.me/raresportsbikesforsale/collector-quality-rg-titled-1986-suzuki-rg500-gamma/
I think this is the RG in question.
https://evu.hhv.mybluehost.me/raresportsbikesforsale/gammas-everywhere-another-86-suzuki-rg500/
He sold the other RG LY. Now that one was sweet..

To clarify ..
Robert bought this RG
https://evu.hhv.mybluehost.me/raresportsbikesforsale/gammas-everywhere-another-86-suzuki-rg500/
A fellow from Georgia bought this one..

Just an observation on the front brakes on the Lucky. The VJ22 forks mount Nissin / Tokico calipers to a rotor position expecting 300 mm in diameter. The rotors on this bike are from an early Katana 600 / 750 and measure only 290 mm. When the pads wear over the edge of the rotor, they develop a ridge that interferes with the natural heat expansion of the rotor creating an unsafe situation.
Hello Oily,
To answer your question, I would have to say I’m not at all sure if this is the machine I purchased from RS, because it didn’t look anything like that when I arrived for the following reasons:
The ad RS reposted is not the ad that ran on ebay originally because I printed all pages out and saved, they are different.
First off the machine I purchased recorded 14,680KM on the odometer. This machine in the ad shows 5,307KM.
When I viewed the machine both on ebay and in person it had white 1988-89 GSXR wheels and Nissin brake setup with big adapters on the front forks, not stock as shown in the photo. I did receive a complete stock wheel and brake set-up from RS, but it wasn’t as pictured when purchased.
The upper quarter fairing was a replacement that had been damaged and repaired.
The ad claimed “NEW” Bridgestone Battle AX tires, not when I picked it up. New tires, yes, but cheap chinese type, not Bridgestones.
The central indicator lens on the instrument cluster was crazed. The one is this photo looks uncrazed and the whole upper triple clamp and hand controls are in much better condition than the actual bike.
Many other subtle things are not as pictured compared to the actual bike.
So, without going on and on, this picture may have been the bike at some point in it’s life, just not when I picked it up.
Also I want to be clear, I decided at this point in my life after wanting one for 20 years it was time.
Even though I voiced some upset about misrepresentation on ebay, this was the best example I had found in over 3 years, so even though I didn’t like what I saw when I viewed it at the home of RS, I went forward knowing I was going to have Rick Lance or someone like that get it straightened out.
SO, all of this writing isn’t about buyer remorse or not being able to hang with modern bike squids, as suggested, it’s just the whole presentation of a rare product that wasn’t right or ethical.
Best,
RP
Hmmm ?
Didn’t expect this after all the smearing ..
Robert says ..
Even though I voiced some upset about misrepresentation on ebay, this was the best example I had found in over 3 years, so even though I didn’t like what I saw when I viewed it at the home of RS, I went forward knowing I was going to have Rick Lance or someone like that get it straightened out.
Rick now says…
The bike is good and it runs amazing .
Thanks for coming clean fellows…
Robert – Sounds like you found a decent bike after 3 yrs.
Rick – Go away – I have done nothing to you but overpay for your neglected bike that I have now learned from you — what the issues were..
( all sorted now I must add)
Now please stop smearing my name please…
Im reporting you to the odometer fraud department at the NHTSA. I am not going to stand for this in our community. Have a nice day.
Turns out it’s quite illegal in RI to tamper with an odometer. The NHTSA pointed me to call your local authorities so that’s my next call.
Rick
I am in CT so make sure you report me to the correct state ..
FYI — When registering a motorvehicle in CT which is as difficult if not more difficult than CA , the out of state title ( yours from Florida ) must match the mileage on the motor vehicle.. therefore ………
And BTW — Refer back to all of your posts here where you qoute the mileage as being 24K 26K 31K and lastly you state that you have no idea.. which one is Rick??
Oh and keep in mind — it is illegal to own and register a grey market bike so we all are going to jail.. LOL
Sounds about right….Roy ….do you have 3 differnt emails you log in with?? Don’t see anybody defending the milage issue but many of the post have 3 thumbs down?? Curious
Roy is defending his liar ways and is a criminal, and he thinks what he is doing is right, what a dumb scumbag!
Note of caution to Jimbo – Jeff Richards – Rick Johnson and Robert Pyatak .. If the smeariing does not cease , I will include your names in all of my EBAY listings going forward ( and there will be many ) inviting the community to contact me via email so that I can share with them , you MO’s.. ( following EBAY guidelines of course)
I have a pretty large following on ebay with the 2 stroke community of which I am highly rated , hence the 100% positive feedback. so you decide…
Your MO’s = Modus operandi
And finally..
The guy who started the smearing ..
Rick Johnson — His original listing.. see below..
Note – No mileage listed.. why ?? because he is a fraud..
He states he imported from japan and had it properly titled by an attorney .. yet the prevous state of titlement is ME?? review title carefully ..
His residence is in Florida – why would his attorney properly title the bike in ME? We know why .. because he is the # 1 scum bag..
Read Ricks comments here and then read his listing .
Lots of discrepancies ..
https://evu.hhv.mybluehost.me/raresportsbikesforsale/same-bike-different-look-1991-suzuki-rgv250/
The End ..
LOL maybe because I lived in Maine? You have to be the dumbest person alive.
Check out the first post above by Rick ..
He states that the bike is not an VJ 22M but yet in this post I found from him / 2010 he lists the bike as a VJ 22M. ————–The bike is a VJ 22M —————

To RC35,
Thanks for the old link to my RG500 prior to purchase from RS.
Turns out this bike was in my back yard and didn’t even know it was for sale until I saw on Ebay from RS.
I now have the history on it prior to transfer to RS, not that the history much matters because it’s with Rick Lance getting the Lance Gamma extreme makeover, but it is nice to know something about it’s prior life. Thanks, again.
RP
The bike is a japanese model vj22. Its a 1991 L. It says so right on the frame. M models are uk spec. My bike was not uk spec. It came right from japan I think I sent you that paperwork. Learn your bikes.
