This was the last major revision for the FZR1000 before Yamaha handed the torch to the Thunderace, with production wrapping up the following year in ’95. The ’94 brought the fox-eye headlights back after a few years of the single-eye look, along with six piston front calipers replacing the earlier setup. Underneath the bodywork is the same Genesis five valve engine and Deltabox aluminum frame that got the FZR1000 crowned Cycle World’s Bike of the Decade back in ’89. That’s not nothing.
Black, purple, orange and teal is a scheme you either love or you don’t, and we’ve actually run this exact colorway before: a 1994 FZR1000 with 10,363 miles that asked $3,700. This one’s got a quarter of the miles and nearly double the price. Seems like good math.
Speaking of mods, this one’s wearing a Yoshimura slip-on instead of the stock exhaust. Doesn’t hurt the bike, but if you’re chasing all-original for a collection rather than a rider, factor that in.
Carbs recently rebuilt is the detail that matters most here. These sit for years and the carbs gum up, so a seller who’s already done that work took care of the annoying part for you.

Carb clean is a great thing if already done. But if gas was put in the bike after (like you would to confirm it is cleaned), ask how long it has sat after. Depressing how often this is done, then undone a month later. Ethanol gas here in the hot, humid south of the USA easily turns the clock right back in as little as a month. Maybe NH is significantly better. I would be thrilled to read that the current owner also stored it with non-ethanol fuel onboard.

is that a ysr50 or is it an import ysr80? Vance and hines fzr600? Some tasty 2T models there.
Yes, having recently done the carbs on my GPZ, you need to be careful with crappy E10 fuels. If you can’t regularly run the bike, get the ethanol out and replace with good fuel for storage. Draining the carbs can also be problematic.
