This 2006 Yamaha YZF-R1 LE is one of 500 50th Anniversary editions produced, all of which were finished in a Kenny Roberts-inspired yellow, black, and white livery. It has been modified with Termignoni mufflers, a license plate relocation bracket, a Zero Gravity tinted windscreen, an Öhlins steering damper, carbon-fiber accessories, frame sliders, CRG shorty levers, and Voodoo rearsets. Powered by a 998cc DOHC inline-four linked to a slipper clutch and a six-speed transmission, the motorcycle is equipped with a four-into-two exhaust system, an aluminum twin-spar frame, swingarm lift spools, adjustable Öhlins suspension, an aluminum swingarm, 17″ Marchesini forged aluminum wheels, and triple disc brakes with radial-mount front calipers as well as clip-on handlebars and digital and analog gauges. The bike is noted to have been purchased new by the seller, and ownership was later transferred to their dealership. This 50th Anniversary YZF-R1 LE is offered at no reserve by the selling dealer with a tool kit, an owner’s manual, a bike cover, service records, a passenger pillion, removed parts, and a clean California title.

At 9,000 miles this one clearly wasn’t somebody’s daily track weapon. These bikes got ridden hard back in the day, so a clean, low-mile example like this is worth a second look.
No reserve on BaT means it’s going to a new home regardless. The question is whether it lands with a garage queen or someone who’s going to put more miles on that 998.
