The motorcycle that virtually defined the modern sportbike, Suzuki’s GSX-R750 had most of the features we’d recognize today: a high-revving inline-four engine, monoshock aluminum frame, triple disc brakes, and a sleek full fairing. It’s really only the 18″ wheels that look out of place today. Interestingly, the GSX-R eschewed liquid-cooling in an effort to reduce weight, relying on a high-capacity oil system to keep the engine operating within acceptable parameters. Today’s Suzuki GSX-R750 Limited Edition was, naturally, a limited production homologation special that added a dry clutch, lightweight aluminum fuel tank, solo tail section, a longer swingarm, and Suzuki’s anti-dive forks. Cost for the LE model was significantly higher than the standard bike, but that didn’t really matter to collectors, and the rules stated that you had to build the required examples, not that anyone actually had to buy them…

This is only the second example we have ever had the opportunity to offer, underscoring just how rare and desirable these machines have become.
This example has benefited from careful, high-quality refurbishment while retaining originality where it matters:
Original exhaust ceramic coated
New brake lines fitted and calipers rebuilt
Wheels powder coated and fitted with new tyres
Fork tubes hard chromed, lowers vapor blasted, and new fork seals installed
Fuel tank cleaned
Complete service and fresh oil change
Importantly, the bike retains its original screen, indicators, and mirrors.
This example of Suzuki’s GSX-R750 Limited Edition is available from Brad’s Vintage Cycles in Queensland, Australia and may be a bit out of the way for most of our readers, but certainly is worth a look, as these don’t come up for sale very often. The bike currently has the equivalent of just over 20,000 miles on it, and appears to be in excellent condition, with recent maintenance and repairs to make it fully roadworthy and more than just a display piece.
