2002 MV Agusta F4 SP-01

2002 MV Agusta F4 with SP-01 Viper kit – 1 of only 50 worldwide!

Some of our regular readers may know we here at RSBFS are quite fond of the MV Agusta F4 and think that it will become a iconic classic in the future.  There are many different versions of the F4 – Ago, Senna, Tamburinin, CC…etc. – but this one with the SP-01 “Viper” kit (each bike is signed by Mr. Tamburini himself!) has got to be high on the rare list – so much so that I didn’t even know that it existed until I saw this one! According to the seller, there’s only 50 of these in the world…

This may be your only chance to own one of these! MV Agusta only made 50, and I don’t think the other 49 guys are selling theirs.  I have priced this incredible machine at much less than I paid and even less than you would pay for a brand new rice burner that looks like every other sport bike out there.  Brand new, these cost $36k – $18k for the base bike and $18k for the SP-01 Kit.

This is the most beautiful bike you will ever lay your eyes on! If you are in So Cal come by and check it out; once you hear the sound, see the sexiness of its lines, and feels its power, you will be sold!  Also, as I own this bike myself, there are no liens against it; you pay for it, you get it right away.

If you are looking at this ad, then you know what this  bike is about.  The SP-01.  The Viper.  Signed by Massimo Tamburini himself.  I have pasted the info from MVA’s website below.

To find more what exactly is an SP-01 kit, click here.  And .

We’ve seen our share of the “regular” F4 in red and silver paint, but how often do you see one in factory blue and silver colours? I sure haven’t!

2002 Ducati MH900e Mike Hailwood Evoluzione for sale in Brooklyn, NY

2002 Ducati MH900e Mike Hailwood Evoluzione (#0754 of 2000) for sale in Brooklyn, NY

The MH900e Mike Hailwood Evoluzione is  limited edition bike and only 500 units made it to the US, so they are not a very common sight.  I was already quite excited to find one (#1267 of 2000) for sale in CA, but I found yet another for sale in Brooklyn, NY!  This time it’s MH900e #0754:

This MH900e only has 631 miles on the clock, and judging from the photos, it leads a pampered life.  I’ve always liked the MH900e and even though the riding position has been described as “crippling”, I definitely wouldn’t mind having one of these to flog around the streets of Hong Kong.

1998 Bimota V Due with California title! Update – SOLD ALREADY!

1998 Bimota V-Due 500 Iniezione with California title – and it runs perfect!

UPDATE 2.18.10: After less than 12 hours on our site, this one is already gone to one of our regular readers. Another happy customer at RSBFS! Thanks to Seltzer for the submission and Phil for the post!

Ah – the famous (or rather, infamous) Bimota V Due. It was Bimota’s ambitious move to have an engine that was completely developed in-house: a 500cc 2-stroke with direct fuel injection that would give the V Due the highest power to weight ratio for any production production bike at that time. But when the production units rolled out, they were plagued with many problems which lead to a series of events that ultimately broke Bimota. There’s more HERE and HERE about the V Due if you are interested.

In any case, :

This is your last opportunity.  You will never get a another chance to own one of these! If you are looking at this ad, then you know what this bike is.  It has 6000 miles on it (every one whilst wearing a big ol’ you-know-what eating grin!).  And it has a California Title.  A CALIFORNIA TITLE.

The VDue Story – You probably heard it, but just in case you didn’t. . . Bimota bet the farm on this bike.  The only Bimota built with their own enigne.  A unique 2-stroke with independent computer controlled air, oil, gas, and ignition systems.  It was designed to be the epitome of all things Bimota.  However, due to some bad luck, bad control of vendors, and bad quality control of their own, none of the first generation bikes ran.  None.  Bimoate quickly recalled them all and the owners were sent new bikes. .  . . ones with carburetors instead of electronic ignition.  And so, the Iniezione was quickly laid to rest. . . .

This particular bike – This bike came into my ownership in 2000.  And, through finding the right contacts to help me out and some imaginative engineering of my own. . . it works flawlessly.  I wanted to keep the bike as intended by its developers, so I made as few modifications as I could.  In fact, this bikes still has all of its original parts (even the fuel injectors and computers).  I have posted to various VDue owners groups what I did to get this running so great, and I won’t get into it here.  All you need to know is that it runs.  It is a blast.  It is an Iniezione!  It is probably the only Iniezione in the U.S. (or perhaps the globe) that runs on the original design spec equipment.

Condition: Externally, the bike is in great condition.  And, the engine is in great condition too (I just tore it down for inspection and even the cylinder walls looked new!).  The wheels and suspension are in simialr condition – alomost perfect.  All the alumiinum is in excellent condition with zero corrosion.  Due to poor fit and finish, and also a lot of tear down during my research, the fairings and air box cracked and have been repaired.  You cannot see any flaws from the outside, these components were fixed from the inside out, so you can’t see anything cosmetically wrong.  Also, I periodically clean the exhaust cans, so they show some signs of being opened and re-riveted closed (but not much really).  However, to be fair, I need to mention these issues here.  I will, of course, send complete photos to anyone who requests them.

Well, the seller pretty said it all.  V Due’s are legendary not only for the damage that it caused Bimota, but also for the vision that Bimota had for it had it worked.  If this V Due truly works like it was supposed to as the seller claims, then it is definitely worth the $15,000 asking price.

1993 Ducati 900SS SL Superlight for sale in Barrington, RI

First year 1993 Ducati 900SS SL Superlight #814 of 900  for sale on ebay. The bike is located in Barrington, RI.

We’re having our new year holidays here in Hong Kong, so I have lots of free time to surf and found a bunch of rare Ducatis for sale.  So here’s the first of a long list of bikes coming up – a first year 1993 Ducati 900SS SL Superlight (but with a broken engine):

Absolutely Beautiful Ducati 900SS Superlight. Second Owner, I bought this bike from Ducati Dealer in Salt Lake City where it was on consignment sale. I looked long and hard for an immaculate bike and this was it. I bought the bike with about 3,000 miles on it.

The bike was serviced one year ago by Ducati dealer in South Kingstown, RI. I think they did something wrong with the desmo valves (but won’t admit it) becuase I rode the bike for 12 miles before the engine seized a few blocks from home. It sounded like a rod let loose at 6,500 rpm. The bike has sat for a year. I was going to either drop a replacement engine into it, or have em look at it and do the repairs.

The bike has been sitting in my heated garage since last august 2009. I have absolutely no time to ride this bike and it would be a great deal for someone. The only flaws are a broken exhaust bracket (shown). Bike has termi carbon exhausts, super low miles, no corrosion or rust etc anywhere. Just a 9 out of 10 show bike I was going to keep forever, now wasting away with a broken engine. The bike is absolutely original down to every carbon part and Marvic magnesium hub wheels. Will not ship, best offer wins. Please email with any questions. Comes with custome Ducati Bike cover and battery charge lead for battery tender.

Please check the listing for the full description as the seller has posted quite a bit of information in addition to the above. .

Some of our regular readers may know how fond we are of the 2V air-cooled Ducatis, and the first year Superlight with the 2-piece Marvic wheels is definitely high on our list.  This sample seems to be in pristine condition with the exception of the broken engine (I’m guessing it’s a dropped valve), which could potentially turn out to be a costly jobs.  However, for the more mechanically inclined Ducatistis among our readers, it’s a good opportunity to pick this up for a good price, fix it up for chips, and have a superb Superlight in your collection!

2002 Ducati MH900e Mike Hailwood limited edition in CA

2002 Ducati MH900e Mike Hailwood (#1267 of 2000) for sale in Ukiah, CA

The MH900e (the ‘e’ stands for evoluzione) was a limited edition bike created to commemorate Mike Hailwood’s 1978 Isle of Man Formula 1 Championship.  It was the first motorcycle to be sold exclusively over the internet where customers would reserve their bike online, and then waited for a year or more to have the bikes delivered.  Only 500 made it to the US. Click here for more info on the MH900e.

The seller didn’t give any details, so please for the sellers’ contact info.

When the MH900e first came out I wanted it so badly that I called up my brother and sister, trying to convince them to pool together funds to pay for the required deposit.  That didn’t work back then, but perhaps I should give them a call now.  I’m sure they would be thrilled to hear from me with another bike purchase proposal…

2004 Ducati 998 Matrix Reloaded limited edition

2004 Ducati 998 Matrix Reloaded limited edition for sale in Kingston, RI.

If you’ve ever watched Matrix Reloaded (and who hasn’t?), then you must remember the superb bike chase scene with Trinity riding a Ducati zipping in and out of cars on the freeway.  Although you can clearly read the “996” designation in the movie, Ducati introduced a 998 Matrix Reloaded limited edition in a dark green “Matrix” colour.  :

This is a 2004 Limited Addition Ducati 998 Matrix Reloaded.  Its in Great condition, low miles and always been garaged.  It has a clear title and never had any problem.  It has been regularly maintained with tune up etc…

Although it’s not clear exactly how many of these were produced, sources indicate that only 150 pcs of these 998 Matrix Limited editions were made worldwide. Here’s a quick recap of that amazing bike chase scene:

It’s always hard to a put a value on these movie or “novelty” editions, but considering that  a.) the 998 was the best of the 916 series  b.) although a green Ducati sounds funny, the colour and paint scheme is not entirely that bad  c.) the entire Matrix series was phenomenal, and d.) Trinity rocks, I would love to have one!

Brand new 0 miles Honda RC45 for sale!

Brand new 0 miles Honda RC45 for sale in the UK.

Just when I thought the brand new 0 miles RC30 from Doble Motorcycles in the UK was an incredible find, they hit me with a double whammy by offering a brand new 0 miles RC45 for sale as well!

This bike has never been used. It has been in a private collection.

This is a BRAND-NEW un-registered UK example.

It comes with it’s original genuine Honda single-sided paddock stand.

Accompanied with it’s original owner’s manual and service book.
100% standard in every way. MINT, MINT, MINT!
Oh crikey: Grown men broke down in tears when this arrived in the showroom; overcome by the presence of greatness; (no not you Mr Doble). It’s an RC45. One for the museum or your private collection; it would look a treat parked in a corner of your living room! Then again; how could you resist the temptation to register and ride it. What a dilemma. This totally stunning piece of Honda racing history is up for grabs. Pawn everything if you have to: It’s an investment and you’ll want it bad!
The RC45 is the successor to the legendary RC30, but unfortunately it didn’t achieve the same level of success as the RC30.  Nevertheless, it is still an iconic bike and is on many serious collectors’ list of bikes to have.  Personally, I like the looks of the RC45 but the RC30 is more iconic with its long list of race wins.
If you are seriously considering this RC45 for your collection, then the $39,000 asking price is probably not an issue, in which case may I suggest getting the matching 0 miles RC30 as well – these two great motorcycles deserve to be together in the same collection!

0 miles Honda RC30 for sale!

Brand new 0 miles Honda RC30 for sale in the UK!!

Honda’s V4 engined RC30 (also known as the VFR750R) is one of the most iconic bikes of all time (if not THE iconic bike of modern race machines), and they are quite hard to come by.  For those of you who don’t know about the celebrated history of the RC30, you can read about it here.

RC30s in good condition are even more rare, so imagine when I came across this with 0 (as in zero) miles!  We have a strict policy about posting international listings, but this one certainly qualifies:

This superb RC30 is for sale from Doble Motorcycles in the UK, and these are some of the highlights:

With Zero miles…this bike has never been used!

It has even still got the factory protective cellophane on the frame!

It even comes with the original owner’s manual and V55 DVLA document that would have been used to register it!

This is a real dream of a bike. It must be one of the last chances to get a new one!

This is probably the last chance to buy a brand new 0 miles RC30 and the asking price of $39,000 (approximately) reflects this rare oppourtunity. Click here to link to the listing on Doble Motorcycles.

The RC30 is one of the bikes on my “must have” list, but this one is far too nice to ride (assuming that I even have the money to buy it in the first place).  This one should be sitting in a serious collector’s climate controlled storage or in a museum!
