1996 Ducati Super Sport 900SS
Location: Windham, ME
Miles: 5,300
Price: $3,200.00 B.I.N.
I don’t want any whining and crying over a 900ss hitting the pages of RSBFS.com. This looks to be a steal and anyone looking to enter the Ducati market on the cheap should take notice. I’ve consulted the powers to be and they all said this thing should be bumping $4,500 in price. I can honestly say that if I could sell one of my 4 I’d be all over it faster than a fat kid on cake-
Nice eh? I think I’d challenge anyone to find a nicer one for the money.
1996 Ducati SS900, 5300 miles, immaculate condition, matching numbers
Who cares if it only has 80 ponies, you’ve got 85 pound feet of torque on tap and that would surely take any slack out of your arms.
I’ve heard both sides of the story regarding the 900SS. One group says they handle like a hippo- the other side says they make great sport tourers. Either way, I’d rock this one all day long and wouldn’t care what anyone had to say about it.
Cheers!

This is my favorite Ducati of all time. My local dealer has a 0 mile 98 900FE that I’ve been drooling over for years. If this was in the midwest, I’d probably bite.
Now take off that ugly red windscreen
Just lose the ugly seat as well as the windscreen, and you’ve got a modern Italian classic for very little money. Total bargain if it’s mechanically good.
I own this same bike, a 1996 SP (with only 3200 miles on it) – picked it up used for $6K 4 years ago. This bike just sold for $3,200 – and it’s a blast to ride when I’m out with friends/cousins/father in law. Everyone who ever owned one is crying the same lament: They wish they never sold theirs! Slow maybe, but fun to ride, sound is better than later bikes, reliable and reasonable to maintain.
I wouldn’t call it slow @ quarter throttle I was doing 120. Mine has over 30,000 miles and uses oil too. Can’t imagine what a great handling ducati feels like? This thing is pretty awesome. That’s a good deal with 5300 miles! I KNOW these bikes can go at least 30k.
