Emerging during the zenith of the sportbike era, the ZX-7 burst onto the scene. Manufacturers poured their utmost efforts into conquering the challenges of the AMA and World Superbikes. In the pivotal year of 1993, a completely revamped top end delivered a robust 118 hp from the 749cc four-cylinder engine. This power was harnessed through four 38mm Keihin carburetors and a novel single intake designed for optimal ram air induction.

The bike featured a host of performance-oriented features, including fully adjustable USD forks and a Uni-Trak monoshock suspension system. The imposing 17-inch wheels were positioned at both ends, complemented by substantial 320mm front discs for enhanced braking prowess. Riders praised the well-engineered riding position, while the biposto seat configuration hinted at the potential accommodation of a passenger.
This ZX-7 stands as a testament to the unmistakable aesthetic of the 1990s. Every detail exudes a quintessentially nineties vibe, down to the iconic orange-fade-to-purple logos. The exterior has been treated to subtle refurbishment and the striking green windscreen serves as evidence of a previous owner’s affinity for the bike’s brand.

A symbol of its triumphant design, with the skillful preparation by Rob Muzzy, the ZX-7R secured victory in the AMA Superbike championship of 1992, followed by a resounding World Superbike championship in the subsequent year. In a market segment often overshadowed by Suzuki, these machines seldom enjoyed the pampering and nurturing bestowed upon this exceptional specimen. While it might not command attention in a show setting, this ZX-7 is equally prepared to transport its next owner back in time, delivering the electrifying superbike experience from nearly three decades ago.
First real sportbike i ever rode. I went to the Cycle World international motorcycleshow at the cow palace. And kawasaki was allowing demo rides to (almost) anyone with a motorcycle license. The fact i had just turned 18 was my ticket to ride! What a step up from an old yamaha rd350. I have hada very soft spot for these ever since. Ownership back then was the remotest of possibilities… (Thank you Kawasaki for not making me ride the vulcan. )
