The 2005 was a full redesign year for the 636. All-new bodywork, new Showa suspension, under-seat exhaust, revised fuel injection. Kawasaki was done letting the street version feel like a compromised race bike. While the 599cc ZX-6RR handled race duty, the 636 was freed up to actually work on real roads. Cycle World called it out in their March 2005 issue, and the consensus held up: the midrange torque and reworked ergonomics made it the more complete package for anyone not chasing AMA Supersport points.
The seller’s service list is the real headline here: tires, brakes, chain, fuel pump, plugs, oil. That’s not a flip, that’s someone who actually maintained the bike. Two original keys and the seat cowl still in hand is a good sign too. These parts go missing.
2,828 miles on a 20-year-old middleweight. Someone bought this bike and barely touched it. At $6,500 fully serviced, that’s not an unreasonable ask for what it is.
The 636 came in three color options, though this is the only one I see.
