Yes, this is a project. So feel free to let us know if you hate projects and we will take note. We’d also like to hear from the readers that appreciate this type of find. Who is looking for an awesome bike that they can bring back to life? Who likes to wrench and renew?
We often get requests for parts, and this seller says he has parts for other bikes that he is willing to sell. If you are working on one of these bikes – 1991 GSX-R750, 2005 GSX-R1000, 1982 GS1100e, 1980 Kaw KZ550, 1982 IT 250, 2004 GS500 – and need some parts, give him a call.
Good luck to the buyer and seller!

Damn! That looks like a real steal! Wish it were closer to home.
Yes indeed, this is a worthy project! I just got my ’85 900 out of mothballs last week, and now I know what was missing in my life!
@Vincent Ochs I just finished a lot of work on my 84 GPz900. Put in one of those aluminum double row radiators I got off ebay for $45. Rebuilt the carbs…again, and adjusted the valves. Runs amazing but you can just watch that temp gauge rise up at stops. Eventually I’m gonna have to split the case too, cause I can hear the starter clutch starting to go. Maybe the most comfortable bike I own.
The road race grids were filled with these GPz’s.
I always loved the looks of the GPz models, and I’ve been thinking of something sporty and smallish — Aprilia RS457, KTM RC390 — to put in the garage. And I am in CT.
@Rob – If you get to see the bike, please report back. Especially if you purchase it. Keep us in-the-loop!
LOL Dan, even in cold weather that gauge starts climbing. My gearbox is going, which also involves splitting the cases. D’oh.
I did buy this one! Just got the plate today while the new battery is charging. Some of the black finish is oxidized, but It’s in solid shape overall.
@Rob – Congrats! Have a blast!
