The 1992 Yamaha TZR250R is one of those bikes most U.S. riders only read about, and this one just popped up with a clean title.
Recently imported from Japan, this example shows 21,000 miles and, importantly, is described as running exactly as it should. Oil injection is still in place, and it’s been fitted with an aftermarket exhaust. The solo seat cowl and a few extras are included as well.
Condition looks strong across the board. Clean bodywork, no obvious red flags, and it presents like a bike that’s been cared for, not just stored.
These don’t show up often in the U.S. in this kind of ready-to-ride shape. If you’ve been waiting for a TZR250R, this looks like a straightforward one.
Good luck to the buyer and seller!

Are ‘US miles’ different from the rest of the world? Is that why it’s listed as 12K miles in the description?
The odometer shows 34,532 km, just over 21,000 miles in the antiquated US measurement system.
No mention of any engine work being done. At 34,532 km the top end is well past it’s best by date. It would be false economy to not rebuild the crank at the same time.
I’m not seeing 12,000 anywhere. Perhaps the ad was changed? Or was the 12,000 an error with this site?
Tires suggest it’s a track bike, or a bike enjoyed hard somewhere else. Well done!
I like the AI pics that remove the background. I especially like the idea of applying that to most things I encounter in a day.
You really need to know which version of theTZR250 you have here.
There are three: a parallel twin(1KT)a reverse cylinder twin(3MA)and a vee twin(3XV) – which this one looks like.
The vee twin is the prettiest, quickest and trickest. And as a consequence the most valued.
Parts will be tricky but they are a lovely thing, from an era which won’t ever be back.
definitely one for the glass case brigade.
