At one time NSR’s were pretty scarce stateside, but as of late they are rotating through as fast as Jay goes through…. um… let’s call them ‘partners’.
I have the original bodywork in decent shape, the current bodywork is new and depicts the SP edition NSR (little perpetration but looks bitchin) fresh top end, all original, everything works and runs excellent, no issues, super fresh cut slicks, fresh oil etc. current registration in CA title in hand.
Honestly this thing is like a time capsule. incredible shape. BRAND SPANKEN NEW BODYWORK AND TANK. box of parts and spares including original bodywork.
this was a DEA government seizure recovery. Was not in any accidents that I know of, has salvage title but this is likely due to the DEA recovery. or method in which took place to get Plated, as it was being “rebuilt” when it was seized. Now 100% complete. Starts on one kick.
This latest offering looks to be a nice example, but as I outlined in my last NSR post looks can be deceiving.
The seller is listing it as a SE model, but this machine has a wet clutch and non-adjustable suspension which denotes it as a R model. Now, I’m not bashing this machine at all- all I’m saying is that it’s not everything it’s being advertised as. Yes, it’s a very clean example with un-obtainable ‘new’ bodywork, but in my descriptions I consider ‘mint’ and ‘100%’ to be just that.
Again, you’ll need to decide if this machine is worth $10,000.00. It does have the ever elusive CA title and who cares if it’s salvage or not. It’s a freaking CA title!
For me it’s well over priced, but then again I don’t live in Cali and long for a grey market bike with a title.

It looks like MC28 bodywork, not MC21. Still nice looking bike and all. Worth $10K, perhaps, but you can get a more original bike for less. If it were a true Rothmans bike, then it could bring the money. I turned down $12.5 for my 1994.
There’s titled MC21’s that pop up around here (LA) for a lot less. I checked out an SP with full HRC parts, tons of spares and a clean CA title for only $8500 a few weeks ago.
“Hollywood”…. Where sometimes things are not what they seem to be.
Salvaged title. “Original’ bodywork in a box. That is a home-grown restoration job if ever. $10K for a rebuild?
All these bikes are coming out of the woodwork to try cash in.
10K, not a chance. But someone will throw money at it.
No way its even a SE model, wet clutch and non adjustable suspension. Looks like MC21 Chinese bodywork aswell, hard to tell though. Over priced IMO.
