1996 RGV250 Gamma VJ23

Available in Northern California is a 1996 RGV250 in what looks to be amazing condition. The ad as posted by the seller:

I am sad to say that I am forced to sell my 96 RGV250. I have spent the last 3 1/2 years building the bike.

This is a extremely rare 1996 RGV250 VJ23. There were only 2218 bikes made between Feb 96 and Sept 96. The bike has a unique 70 degree motor based on the Suzuki GP bikes. There are maybe 15 to 20 of these bikes in the USA.

Here is a list of the modifications I have done:

– Ohlins radial front forks with the Brembo radial calipers
– Galfer wave rotors
– Yoshmura billet triple clamps w/modification to fit stock ignition lock
– Penske triple clicker rear shock
– Marchesini magnesium 10 spoke wheels f/3.5″ and r/5.5″
– New Michelin Pilot Power 2ct tires
– Custom rear caliper bracket with brembo caliper
– Sugaya race pipes (Not the Lomas as seen in the pictures below)
– Sugaya R2 cdi
– Has oil injection (not premix)
– Ca titled with new registration(November) for the next year
– Recent complete rebuild

I want $15,000 firm for the bike. No tire kickers please…and no test rides until there is cash in hand.

Sorry no trades of anykind.
Feel free to contact me with any questions…

** The pictures below show the bike with Jim Lomas pipes….the bike currently has Sugaya race pipes and thats whats being sold**

The asking price is $15,000 and is titled and registered in California.  See the ad on Bay Area Riders Forum here.

quote from seller’s listing:

Extremely rare Sportbike for sale. One of approx. 400 in the States, this one is from Canada. Never imported directly. 500cc four cylinder 2-stroke – it is the road going version of Suzuki’s class dominating GP bike of the late 70’s. 100HP in a 300# package – you do the math = FAST and fun. Although I hate to see it go, I need to make space in the garage and I really don’t have time to ride this awesome piece of machinery any more. The bike is in excellent condition. It does need a battery. And the reg. is expired.

And finally a nice and original looking 1990 GSX-R 750 for only $2500 (15k miles, Fontana, California):

1986 Suzuki RG500 Gamma

Located in Eugene, Oregon is a rare 1986 Suzuki RG500 Gamma with 18,750 miles.  This bike looks to be in good condition with possibly non-standard paint.  Recent service mentioned from a seven year owner, but, also mentions that the top end may be going and it also needs a battery.  This RG is priced at $12,500 which would seem to be market correct but the decals and, most importantly, the engine would need to be investigated.  See the Craigslist ad here.

Located in Mendham, New Jersey is a 1985 Suzuki RG125 with 2,060Km or 1,280Mi. This is the first year for the RG125 and shows some slight damage due to shipping (Crack in faring by blinker, crack in instrument cluster, and missing mirror glass).  These RG125s only weigh in at 209lbs.  Unfortunately, this bike isn’t titled or registered. This is a no reserve auction with the bike currently (6/30) at $102.61. If you’d like a RG125 still on original tires, See the eBay ad here.

EDIT:  This bike sold for $1,675 on 07/06/09 with 31 bids.

Also, available in Las Vegas, Nevada is another 1986 Suzuki RG500.  The seller states:

Cycle Worlds readers collection. Fox shock, Olins stering damper, fork brace, wolf pipes, GSXR wheels, JMC swing arm, Skidmark twin head lights. Many polished parts. Parked for ten years, never broken just tired.

“…just tired.” is interesting wording.  Does the bike simply need to be tuned or have the motor gone through?  Regardless, the asking price is $7,000.  See the Craigslist ad here.
