Narrowly missing out on a Track Day Tuesday slot due to the lights and registration status, today’s 1987 Ducati F1 is a great example of a race bike for the street. Already a legend in stock format, the F1 was a Pantah-motored, pre-Supersport race replica, devoid of any of the bells, whistles or comforts usually attributed to a street bike. This was a bike in pure, Ducati raw form, and upon that canvas this seller created something significant. Looking resplendent in Italian colors (stock fairings) or a variant of the tricolore livery (race fairings), this is really two bikes in one. And riding this monster F1 must be a true sensory experience.

Spare parts, different gearings, transponder for racing, extra jets etc etc.
While this F1 masquerades as a street bike, the veil is very thin indeed. The bike has numerous go-fast additions and modifications, the cost of which is not easily recouped. That is certainly the buyer’s gain in this case, as the extensive engine, trans and chassis work done must certainly far exceed the $8k opening bid. There is also a Buy It Now Option set at $10,400. From a collector standpoint there are probably better investments that will rise in valuation more quickly, but for a head turner that will undoubtedly stir the soul (and then some), this Duc ticks a lot of the right boxes. Located in Sweden, you can check out all of the details here. Good Luck!!

Sounds like it would be wise to check that the paperwork matches the bike if you’re looking to import this machine.
Oh yum, a Duke you can thrash without guilt.
Or, pre-thrashed if you will.
Building something similar would be difficult/expensive, and this machine for that money would be great fun trackside.
Collectors only want original for the glass case, so if you really want to enjoy a pre-water cooled Duke, here it is.
Title does raise a question, but that’s not uncommon among Ducatisti who have happily chopped up bikes to build something interesting.
