For Sale: 2002 Ducati MH900e with zero miles!
OK Ducati fans: What we have here is not one but TWO ’02 Ducati MH900e limited edition collector bikes. The interesting thing is that these bikes are from different sellers and not part of the same collection, yet both are in pristine, un-ridden condition.
For those of you not in the know, the MH900e (as in Mike Hailwood, 900cc Evoluzione) was a major marketing coup for Ducati. Shared with the waiting public in tantilizing web photos, the MHE was sold exclusively via the internet. These limited edition sculptures sold out faster than you can say “I want one.”
The first bike comes to us from Michigan, and has a reported single (one) mile.
From the seller:
New never started stored in heated building. #1931 comes with plack, stand, hand book, and spair keys.Buyer is responsable for shipping.
Pricing for this bike is currently at $10,255, with the reserve BIN price set at $15,000. Notes in the auction indicate that the reserve is in the $13k range. To view the auction, . Good Luck!
The second bike is located in Arizona, and looks to be in equally good condition. This bike has a reported zero miles.
From the seller:
Up for auction, is this mint Ducati MH900e, number 1666 of 2000, with 0 miles. It has been garaged in a smoke-free environment since arrival from Europe. This bike comes with the medallion in a case, rear stand, owner’s manual, rear signal lights, and the tool kit. These bikes rarely come up for auction. This bike needs nothing but a new owner. This motorcycle was hand-built. These motorcycles began production in 2001 and ended in 2002. Only 2,000 of these bikes were built. Orders started to be taken, solely online, on January 1, 2000. Within 31 minutes, all 2,000 bikes were spoken for. Customers who put in their reservations on the internet then waited a year or more to have them delivered.
The first “internet” bike was only available through the Ducati website at midnight at the turn of the century. Designed by Pierre Terblanche in 1998 on a passionate impulse, the MH900e was built to celebrate the legendary Ducati racer Mike Hailwood.
Time Magazine placed this very limited production motorcycle among the ten best examples of design for the year 2000.
The pricing on this second bike is similar to the first. The bidding starts at $10k, with the reserve in place. The BIN price is set at $16,000. To jump to the auction, .
Good luck to both sellers. If you are in the market for a MH900e, this is your golden opportunity!

Never could understand why anyone would want one of these. Yes, they look kinda cool, but so what? Hellish to ride, which is why I suspect there are so many with no miles. What’s more, they have nothing what-so-ever to do with Mike Hailwood. I especially dislike that fake sump cover hanging under the engine.
“The people it’s aimed at understand it…
and I don’t care about the ones who don’t”
– Designer Pierre Terblanche
and it is really that simple. These machines are certainly not the fastest, not the most comfortable and there are certainly many compromises but they exemplify the Ducati breed and lifestyle. I am on my second evoluzione and when you don’t want to ride the same thing everyone else does , well, join us!
#1069 once you’ve owned one, riden one you totally get it. Those who knock them don’t get them and probably can’t afford one let alone appreciate a piece of moving art. A great bike and a hundred times better than some norm mass produced street bike. The swing arm itself speaks volumes, the style and the sound. These things are head turners. Luv mine. AG
