Vehicle Details
Only 1250 Moto Guzzi 1000s motorcycles were produced between 1989-1993…This example was only ridden occasionally by the previous and current owner and has been meticulously maintained…It is in Very Good Running, Very Good Mechanical , and Very Good Cosmetic Condition…
Only minor age wear such as paint rub wear where the seat meets the fuel tank (see close ups)…It was recently completely checked over and is ready to ride…Clean title in hand…These unique and beautiful motorcycles when introduced were not sales successes so the production numbers were low with few coming to the United States and they are now a highly desirable collector motorcycle…
Not many are available and very few in this condition and with such low mileage…I would consider this an investment collector example. In person pick up or buyer arranged pick up recommended.
RSBFS
From the RSBFS archives we have a comment from Michael J, “Love the quirckiness of the clip-on ape hangers that mount just above the LOWER triple clamp.
I have a buddy who owned a 90s vintage Guzzi. He bought it new off the showroom floor. There were electrical issues, and hardware immediately started to loosen at intervals in the first 10,000 miles or so. About that time, 10k, the gremlins had been banished, fasteners re-torqued and heat cycles completed. Smooth sailing after.
He related that he had other new ownrs confirm this “breakin period” was a common exprience. The internet as not then the informational rsource it is today. Motorcycl swap meets served important social and dissemination roles. It was very reliable after that 10k breakin. Assuance from other owner probable had a lot to do with the bike being tolerated up to that point. The bikes looks could only compensate for so much .”
Moto Guzzi was embracing retro designs before the trend and this model did not fly off the showroom floors. Now however, they are collectable and people drool over the color, lines and overall coolness of the design.
Good luck to the buyer and seller!

A quick check on Mobile.de shows a very nice period correct BOT racer for less than 10K euros.
@Lance – thanks for the note – that site is great. Very germanic in the best way.
That price seems pretty insane. Has one ever sold for anything near that price?
Lumpy old Guzzis used to be fun to harrumph about on, not some ornament on the mantelpiece that cost $25000,
they can be hugely frustrating to work on and sort out, but the grunty motor and solid handling grow on you, as long as you don’t expect to imitate Valentino Rossi with it.
