SELLER
Own a piece of motorcycle history with this original 1990 Yamaha FZR600. Under 8,400 miles, new tires and battery. Starts right up and runs amazing. Fast, beautiful, classic bike. It’s rare to find one in this condition. I’m the 2nd owner. My uncle bought it new in ‘90. I have a folder of every record & receipt associated with the bike throughout its lifetime down to the receipts for a Shoei helmet and Dainese riding suit. For sale or trade. Title in hand.

This is when the market gets interesting. Yesterday we saw something very rare, but how desirable is it for motorcycle enthusiasts? Meh. And today we have an example of something that was definitely not rare when it was introduced, yet today it is an excellent survivor.
The FZR600 has a reputation of being fun. According to CycleWorld in 1990, “The FZR600 rewards aggressive riders. Keep the engine singing, and it’s one of the sharpest-handling middleweights on the market.”
If you appreciate early ’90s sportbike character, click on the link and check out more photos on the listing. While not blisteringly fast by today’s standards, it has aged into a responsive, lightweight canyon carver with an addictive engine note and excellent handling for its era. (And yes, I did ask AI to help me describe that. “Addictive engine note” does not roll off my tongue but I thought it sounded cool.)
Besides being a nice survivor, today’s bike has under 10,000 miles!
Good luck to the buyer and seller!

Gorgeous bike, but I’m afraid 12K would be very optimistic, even if it were a 1,000cc
Agreed, nice bike but a completely crazy price.
The seller’s asking price is beyond optimistic. Hagerty valuation for a 1990 FZR600 in concours condition is $6700 US.
I remember these well. Steel frame and all. And although a nice survivor, it is not in this price territory. If it is, then my ’96 SRAD that I bought new is worth 20 grand…awesome…I’ll take it!
Apparently, they could not be bothered to spend 10 minutes with a toothbrush and clean up the rear wheel prior to asking double what’s it worth best case! People are insane…
