Parts Bin: HRC CBR1000RR Swing Arm And HRC RC30/45 Radiator
Here is another installment of go fast goodies that your significant other thinks you shouldn’t waste your money on.
Is it wrong to be in love with a radiator?
The info:
ULTRA RARE HRC Triple Stack World Superbike Radiator. This was purchased from the Honda WSB team at Laguna Seca in 1995. This is an extremely rare piece and I would be surprised if anyone has seen one for sale EVER. this was bought for a project bike by me years ago and the project went thru many changes and this piece was never used. The picture with the ruler shows the mount spacing for the two top mounts. I unfortunately lost the part number for this piece over the years so I do not have that.
This piece retailed from HRC to the privateer teams for $10,000. Yes that is correct, 10K!!!!!
I do remember reading that some radiators the Yoshimura bikes were using in the Mladin days ran around $12,000.
That damn thing is a work of art. The seller believes it will fit either an RC 30 or RC45. Given the year it was purchased, I’m guessing it is designed for an RC45. Anyone in the know?
Nobody said racers were the brightest bulbs.
The seller is asking roughly $4,500 but is open to offers. Check it out.
How about a swing arm off of Josh Brooks’ 2010 HM Plant Honda CBR? Yeah, they will throw in the linkage as well. I’m guessing you are getting more strength while losing some weight.
The asking price is 500 British Pounds which seems quite low to me for a modern kit part such as this. Inquire here for more info on it.

That radiator will never fit on an RC30 or 45. The head is in the way. Seller is mistaken.
To Anonymous : DO you think the rad will fit on a VF1000R if you got rid of everything up front ?? I plan on doing up an RS850/FWS replica ……..

If you scroll down here, I found a couple of pictures of RC45 kit items (although this is supposed to be a works item). It does look quite different than the standard kit item. Any ideas of what it is from if not an RC45/30?
Honda RS250 G.P. bike.
Though it very possibly could be for an RS250 …think about it…….Does and RS250 really need that much cooling power ?? My reasoning…..no . An RC30/45 does because they run very hot . You could burn your leg on the frame in traffic with that bike ! I have previously seen some WSB bikes such as Fred Merkels’ early Team Rumi bike using two stock Honda upper rads sandwiched together in a bike magazine some years ago….
I think Lord Byron lives up to his name. I’m going with a 1995 RS250. The plumbing looks to fit that model year and while a triple core may sound like overkill I did find one even made an MC21/28 by HRC. The newer RS radiators look different but it looks like 1995 may be a fit.
RC30s run 2 radiators, an upper and a lower. I’m pretty sure that this isn’t an RC30 padiator. As for RS250, it is possible. Cooler bike means more power and they are optimized to run at about 55C. A nice radiator like that would give you that possibility. Cool days require tape to run at 55. It’s better to have more radiator than less since you can always increase the temp, but can’t decrease it if you have a small cooler 🙂
