Considering just 4,782 were produced between 1987 and 1990 for all markets, it’s been positively raining Honda VFR750R RC30s around here recently. For those of you just joining us, the very famous and very sexy Honda RC30 was a roadgoing homologation special produced to qualify the bike to compete in the fledgling World Superbike Championship. Yes, that World Superbike Championship. Unlike other manufacturers who sold modified examples of existing production machines, the RC30 basically existed just so the platform could be used in various production racing classes. The beating heart of the RC30 was Honda’s famed V4, with gear-driven twin-overhead cams and a 360° “big-bang” crankshaft that increased traction coming out of corners and prolonged tire life. The bike was a versatile performer that flattered riders, giving it a longer lifespan than one might expect of such a cutting-edge machine.

A true investment piece that has been in my collection for the past 18 yearsIn my opinion a collector piece and not a rider.Last serviced in 2024 (service report) all was done to make bike rideable.Bike was purchased in Canada and imported by me with all proper documentation and currently has a clean titleAll original paint, body work, no accidentsAhead of its time in development and on the racetrack.Bike will be sold with:– Original stand– Original tool kit
Well, this may be yet another Honda VFR750R RC30, but is certainly is a very nice one, with under 2,000 miles on the odometer and recent service to make it fully rideable. Although, as the seller says, this is probably more of a showpiece and less a rider. That’s almost a shame, because these are supposed to be very good to ride, although hardly impressive straight-line performers by today’s standards. Still one of the best-looking machines of the modern era, and always cool to see one in such nice condition.

RC30? Dime a dozen!
link doesn’t work or already off ebay?
Thanks for the heads-up. NOt sure what happened, but I updated the links. Should work now.
…Not that funding one is remotely conceivable for me. But i have always said, finding tires, great tires is equally inconceivable. Because yes I would have to take it to a track. But an 18” rear tire in race compound?! Yeah, no. The flip side is I have seen any number of these with 17” rear wheels. And they look every bit as wrong as the small headlamp versions of this bike. Ugh, first world problems… that are irrelevant to my status.
