Unless you’re a fan of truly vintage motorcycles, the name Mondial might not ring any bells, as Mondial’s time had come and gone by the early 1960s. But, during their heyday of the 1940s and 1950s, they were famed for their sophisticated and extremely successful racing machines. However, Honda remembered them for the kindness shown to founder Soichiro Honda by Mondial owner Count Boselli, who gave the fledgling motorcycle manufacturer one of their race-winning 1957 machines, no strings attached. Honda, who very rarely supplied engines to outside companies, was apparently honored to be able to return the favor: when a resurrected Mondial Piega appeared in the early 2000s, it was powered by Honda’s 999cc v-twin from the SP-1/RVT1000R suspended from a steel trellis, with top shelf Paioli and Öhlins suspension components at both ends, and wrapped in classy blue-and-silver painted carbon-fiber bodywork.

Brand NEW factory test miles only 30 miles. US title ready to transfer. Less than 10 in the US (legal ones). It uses the reliable Honda SP-1 twin cylinder 1000cc, Mondial team developed their own proprietary injection system, a new carbon fiber airbox, and a revised ECU to accommodate their unique full titanium exhaust system. Claim to be at 140 hp and lots of Carbon Fiber to save a lot of weight. It was the lightest sport twin in the era. Stop collecting RC51 and get this Mother of all RC51.
As NEW condition, Mint with no blemishes everywhere. 2 original keys. Battery and All fluid just replaced with receipt. Will assist with transport or export. These rare bikes has started gaining its value.
With fewer than 200 made and just 30 miles on the odometer, the Piega is a seriously rare machine. This one currently resides in California, although I’m not sure it’s possible to register it here. I’ve been fortunate enough to see one of these in person both in pieces and fully-assembled. It’s not the most distinctive design of the era, but it is beautifully finished and very tastefully styled. With nearly 140hp pushing under 400lbs dry and absolutely no rider aids, the Mondial Piega offers analog performance and plenty of Italian character, along with Japanese reliability. For god’s sake, just don’t let it tip over!

Wow,just wow! If I had that much spare change, this would be the one. Very rare that anything could compete with an F4 in the looks and exclusivity department but this one will give the MV a run for its money
These are apparently a pita to register for actual street use so it will have to go to a collector who is okay with it being a garage queen but still, very cool
