With the first of two (soon to be three) USGP’s roughly a week away, what better way to celebrate the last American rider to win a world championship then with this Nicky Hayden edition Ducati 848. Ok sure, when Hayden won in 2006, he was riding for Repsol Honda at the time. But Ducati was kind enough to release this limited edition to coincide with the 2009 US Gran Prix at Laguna Seca.
The Hayden Edition 848, is the same bike mechanically as the standard 848 in 2010. But with the bike making 134hp and weighing in at only 369lbs, it is no slacker in performance. There were only 150 of these produced which were exclusively sold in the US, all hand signed by the Kentucky Kid himself. The bike has a couple modifications, but the seller states that the original parts are included.

More from the seller:
“For sale is a Ducati 848 Nicky Hayden Limited Edition. This is one of only 150 bikes imported into the US with this color scheme and
signed by the Kentucky Kid, Nicky Hayden. This bike is in excellent condition, having never been raced or tracked. Extras installed on this bike are a Ducati rear seat cowl (original rear seat also goes with the bike), an Evoluzione clutch slave cylinder (again, the original also goes with the bike), blue anodized Light Tech bar ends, and mirror extensions. Also included with this sale are a Ducati Superbike bike cover, a Ducati rear stand, a copy of the service manual on CD and also a copy printed in a binder, and a new unmounted set of Dunlop Q2 Sportmax tires. This bike was purchased new by me in September of 2009, and has warranty coverage until September 10, 2011. The 7500 mile service requirements have been completed.”
These bikes have been a personal favorite of mine since their announcement back in 2009. They retailed new for $14,495 as a 2010 model year. The bike of for grabs here is still under warranty and looks to be in very good condition with 7,502 miles. It has a current big of $7,600 with reserve ($11,500 BIN). If you’re a fan of these bikes like I am, take a look at the auction and place your bid. Go Nicky!
See you at the corkscrew!
