Two 2004 Ducati 998 Matrix editions for sale on ebay!
If you consider yourself a consumate Matrix (as in the movie series) fan, then you must add one of these to your collection – a 2004 Ducati 998 Matrix Edition. And for your convenience, we just found two of them listed on ebay! Here’s the first one:
Only 150 Matrix Edition 998 motorcycles were built by Ducati in 2004. This Ducati has been garage kept. The following additions/modifications have been made to it: FBF 54mm full system with carbon fiber cans, Power Commander, breather valve & airbox reed valve installed, .90 rear spring to replace the softer factory spring, Cycle Cat vented clutch cover, carbon fiber Rear Hugger, Pipercross air filter , carbon fiber sprocket cover, rider foot peg guard set and exhaust guard, Cox Racing radiator & oil cooler guards, Tank Slapper 3M paint film, and a kickstand bypass. New battery and tires. The bike has only 4724 pampered miles.
And here’s the second one:
This is a limited build 2004 Ducati 998 Matrix. It is super clean. The bike has 609 miles on it. It was basically kept as a show bike with only barely seen the outside world.
I know some of your probably think that using a movie to sell motorcycles (or vice versa) is a bit gimmicky, but I actually think these Matrix edition 998s are pretty cool with their very unique dark green paint. And hey, wasn’t The Matrix a SUPER cool movie? Just so that you know what I’m talking about, check out Trinity doing some trick riding through busy LA (I assume) traffic:
Back to these two specific bikes – the starting bids for these are $8999 and $7500 respectively. Although the second one has close to zero miles (609!), the first one would be my pick with its tasty list of mods (notice the Silmoto carbon end cans) and that fact that it is being ridden and well maintained. After sitting for all the years, the cheaper one would probably need a throughout going over anyway if you intend to ride it!
Only a handful of Matrix editions have been previously listed, so that’s not much price reference info to go by, but personally I think the prices are fair for a pair of very unique and rare pure bred Italian racing motorcycles.
