Double Vision: 1985 And 1986 Walter Wolf RG500 Gamma’s
Before you run out and sell your wife’s car, these two beauties are UK bikes again. Knowing the enthusiasm of some Gammanista’s though, they might have already booked a ticket to go pick one (or both) of these bikes up. Rarely can you find one Walter Wolf RG500 let alone two prime examples at the same shop. Don’t expect any bargains either, the British like Walter Wolfs too.
————————————————————–
The 85 has almost 6000 miles on it: is that enough mileage where there is no guilt about racking up more miles?
Ok, so you are cool about putting some miles on her. Are you worried about leaving your investment outside your local Hooters while you down some wings? Yep, the currency conversion (remember when the dollar was worth something?) makes this bike roughly $23,000 for the Yanks.
I know it is only photos but she does look clean. $23,000 clean? I’m not sure. If you’ve ever tried to get corrosion off an older bike the price tag might not seem too bad.
The facts:
HERE WE HAVE A VERY RARE CLASSIC EIGHTIES LIMITED EDITION SUZUKI RG500 GAMMA WALTER WOLF MK1.THE BIKE WAS FIRST REGISTERED ON 01/10/1985 & WILL GO ON A AGE RELATED PLATE ‘B’ PLATE.THE MILEAGE IS 9,484 KM’S THATS 5,928 MILES.LOVELY ORIGONAL PAINTWORK,SUZUKI TOOL KIT UNDER SEAT.STANDARD BIKE.VERY HARD TO FIND IN THIS CONDITION.
What dreams are made of. How many of us have dreamed of owning an ultra rare Walter Wolf RG? I don’t know if it adds to the allure or not but this also a Japanese spec RG500. I know most of you probably know they produced the RG400 for the home market but they also produced the 500 as well. I don’t know if it was produced in limited numbers there or readily available like the 400. .
——————————————————————————
I know most of us aren’t going to the UK to purchase a bike but I really wonder if this one wouldn’t tempt a few people. It is the rare Japanese color scheme with the red wheels and seat and the dog gone thing has just over 2000 miles on the clocks.
Collector quality with the collector price tag. There have been a few RG’s in the States offered in the 20 grand range but this is the closest one I’ve seen that would be worth it. This one will also set you back roughly $23,000. I’m not sure how much closer you could come to a out of the crate Walter Wolf.
