For sale: 1993 Ducati 888 Desmoquattro Superbike!
In the early 1990’s, Ducati created these second-generation desmoquattro superbikes by bumping the displacement of the old 851 mill to a magic 888cc. This new bike inherited other 851 hallmarks, including liquid cooling, computerized fuel injection and four-valve heads. With plenty of torque inherent in the v-twin configuration and a 10,000 RPM redline, the triple-eight was a potent performer.

I have always had a soft spot for the 888. I have heard that the engine cases are prone to cracking aqnd nearly all need to be replaced by 12K miles. Can anyone comment on whether this really is true or not?
not true, mines still going strong at 23,000 miles…..
I purchased this bike recently, after lusting after one since 1991 and it is just as clean and as new as it appears in the photos. The dealer was a pleasure to deal with and many more motorcycle gems can be found there.Looking forward to getting years and miles of enjoyement out of it.
Congratulations Nix510 – that is one awesome looking bike!
