Mike brought you the other half of this original auction with the 1994 Honda RC45 that was once offered in a bundle pack with this RC30 you see here. They didn’t sell for $70k as a pair, so the seller has decided to divide them and go with separate auction. Personally I think this is a way better idea, as maybe someone who is looking for one of these bikes doesn’t need or can’t afford the other. Well most likely the latter, because everyone needs both!
This stunning example of hand laid fiberglass with a titanium filled V4 heart beating underneath its skin looks to be in excellent condition. The only major call-outs would be in regard to the turn signals, but the seller does say that the originals are included. One interesting thing from the original auction were some US/Euro fairing discrepancies with the “V4” decal being present on the side from the far away shot. This is a US/49-State model so it should have “RC30” on the tail and no V4 decal on the front. Now the fairings look correct on the new photos, but I am just wondering if something got corrected somewhere along the line.

This bike is 49 state NOT ACALIMODEL! my bike rev limit is at 12500rpmcalimodels go up to 12000rpms
Just because these are on their own at the moment, don’t think that they have really got much cheaper. The RC45 is listed for a very optimistic $45k, which is about $10k too high according to most. The RC30 here is a little more fairly priced, but not too much. If the reserve was off at say $25k, things would get interesting. But given that the BIN is at $30k and the history of the seller’s auctions, I would say that the reserve is probably close to that. They aren’t being given away, but these are some top tier collectible bikes! You make the call, check out the auction here!

Ok, so it’s been a few years since I had my RC30, but I seem to recall the turn signals being black. I think white ones were on the older NC30 and perhaps some of the Euro RCs.
Anyone know for sure?
Joel
Oops, just read the whole post so nevermind the above
🙁
…”US/Euro fairing discrepancies with the “V4” decal being present on the side from the far away shot. This is a US/49-State model so it should have “RC30” on the tail and no V4 decal on the front”… I’ve thought from the first time I saw these bikes for sale there was something not quite right about them. Buyer beware. My opinion.
Dean35 where do u c a v4 sticker on the rc30?
It was present on prior pictures of the bike. I was partially quoting the write up on it because there were questionable things about the bike and now they’re mysteriously absent. There were similar items with RC45 the seller has listed.
Dean35 I’m the seller I had 2 rc45 an 2 rc30 I had mixed one pics bu mistake……I’m here willin to answer any questions anybody might have.
I don’t think there is any need to stuff around with this one.Someone should just pay the thirty thousand asap and celebrate in the fact they now own a clean, low mileage example of one of the worlds most iconic motorcycles. Totally GFC and recession proof.
I have to ask why you (and the previous 3 owners) of RC45 #20 did not ride the bike.
It is a fantastic ride – you guys missed out on a whole lot.
I had 2 rc 45 an 2 rc 30’s I only rode the ones with less miles on them, plus I have a 2012 cbr1000 an a ducati s2r which is usually what I ride often.
I have had lots of email asking why I’m selling them, well we have a 3 year old girl plus 9 month old twins an now wifee is pregnet again! So I’m selling all my toys.
The white turn signal housings are likely from a 1986/1987 VFR750F.
This bike does have a correct US spec upper cowl. They are unique in having a rubber flap riveted to the inside cowl which covers the upper radiator hose and hose clamp.
If this is a 49 state bike you can check it out by looking up JH2RC3005LM200005.
There were 316 made. Not 300. About 60 of them were California spec.
This bike looks pretty nice. It is not flawless (I see a chip in the upper cowl and lots of bolts that need replating plus some other minor things) but nonetheless a pretty nice example for having 7000 miles on it. Some patina is OK and even desirable to some. People shouldn’t hide it or use the word flawless unless it really is. Sellers will be sellers.
Bill, I really c no chip anywhere, bolts replatng? Other minor things?
White turn signals r originals rc30 painted white an I have a full set of black originals also.
