Yes it’s been two weeks since the Miller SBK weekend, but we’ve got most of our media together now and will be begin publishing the details and stories. First up is the press release from Team Veloce Aprilia:
World Superbike Event, Miller Motorsports 2010
Miller GTU Class May 30th 2010
Out of forty-three 600cc entries in the GTU Class, the Moto-Forza / Team Veloce Aprilia 250 GP bike set the pace in the first practice session at 15th fastest. That’s right: we beat twenty-eight 600’s! When all was said and done we qualified 22nd out of the 40 bikes that made the grid using the 110% rule. Starting on the 5th row was a struggle even for the two-time USGPRU Champ, Nobi Iso who fell back to 33rd by the first lap. As the pace picked up so did Nobi and he continued on an amazing stretch to pass 11 other bikes to finish an honest 22nd in a flawless performance.
Did we win the race? Well no, but that wasn’t our goal. Rather, we wanted to enjoy a good time at the best road racing course in America and to show what a 2-stroke can do. Thanks to our Veloce crew (Nobi Iso, Mike Ost, Jerry Clark, Jay Bernard, Kaleb Ground, Marc Morris and Spiros “Big Boss” Gabrilis) and Moto Forza’s own Balz Renggli, we got to hang with the our old friends with the Aprilia factory WSBK team, race, eat and add more adventures to the story book.
Grazie mille tutti (thanks alot everyone)
