One photo. Four exclamation points. Facebook Marketplace keeps its streak alive.
Nothing says mid-90s Suzuki like this color scheme. The RF900R was the sport-tourer that didn’t want to be called one: a GSX-R derived inline four, a tall screen and room for a passenger. It never got the fame of the Gixxers around it, and good survivors are hard to find now.
7,000 miles in 31 years works out to about 225 a year. That’s a bike that mostly sat, which is great for the bodywork and worth asking about for the fuel system, seals and tires. Somebody did ride it enough to bolt on a Yoshimura can, so ask whether the stock exhaust comes with it. If you’re buying it as a collectible, you’ll want the original pipe.
We’ve only had the RF900 on the site one other time. At $5,500 it’s asking collector money: Hagerty puts a concours-condition ’95 at $5,600. That’s a tall ask for a Marketplace bike with one photo.
Is the RF900R an overlooked 90s classic, or is Suzuki’s sport-tourer where it belongs, in the shadow of the GSX-R? Tell us below.
Good luck to the buyer and seller!

Considering that Yoshimura built one as a Superbike and threw their catalog at it. Finding one in nice condition to start with is more than half the battle. This is a steal.
I agree, I’ve only ever seen one in real life. Definitely rare, but not sure how that translates price-wise.
these didnt get a lot of respect when new due to what they were compared to/the fact that compenonets were as high end as other bikes of the era (example – this has a steel frame, a lot of others had pressed aluminum) but its still a good bike, espcially since the seat has been replace.
